Holy S#!T does the Delta Wolf bark!

Just got my Delta Wolf in and have taken a total of 10 shots. My scope has been delayed for delivery so the only thing that I could check is velocity and dB level. After my first shot, it was so loud that I believed that I messed something up and started to record sound level. My ears started ringing form how loud it was. Any advise on which moderator will fit best on the Delta Wolf? I'm definitely buying from donny unless someone has experience with a different brand specifically used on a DW. But even then, which Donny? I can't buy an array or different models to test for best reduction in sound but I actually need the quietest model in order to be as clandestine as possible while doing my hunting. I'll reach out to Donny and see what he has to say. However, anyone with experience with a moderator and DW will have a distinct advantage on first hand knowledge. BTW, I'm leaning towards the Shogun or Ronin (which is on my Uragan). Thanks for your comments

What caliber is it? 


I have a ronin on my .30 impact and does a really nice job.

It's a .25 cal

I put both of my DonnyFL (Ronin and FX) on it and both brought sound down by 8 dB. Today I'll try my homemade moderators to see how they behave but I'll contact Donny to see which he believes would work out best

Same experience for me..... but was from lowering reg pressure for experimenting. It is NOT a 1/2-20 thread, though.... be aware. AoA sells a direct fit 0Db that I'm currently using and it's pretty good. Note that lower reg pressure = more noise. I've been running mine at lower pressure for better consistency and am happy with it there except for the noise. The chrono makes the shroud not nearly as effective.

My Delta Wolf in .30 will be here today. I called Donny. He recommended the Sumo (longer) or the Ronin (shorter but fatter) twins volume-wise, in the exact caliber. I went with the Ronin. It is waiting for the Wolf to arrive. The thread is an M20x1.

I spoke with Donny and he/we decided on the Shogun. A little longer but lighter than the Ronin (which I have). Wanted to look into the 0dB but Donny products have always been so solid that I decided to go with a brand that I trust.

I am using the long 0BD mod with the tactical stripper end, as Bob says the whole of the shroud is barrel and chrono, so none of the space in the shroud to quieten it down as in the REDWOLF etc.

What calibre is it?

It's a .25 cal. I'm feeling confident that the Shogun will do it's part. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with both moderators.
