Has anybody found a horizontal transom that one could install on a tripod that you could use to stabalize the unit by leaning into the shoulder? Not so much for a bullpen or rifle, but primarily a pistol.

Hello yes if you are looking for a rest for a pistol look at the Ransom Rest multi cal steady rest. hope this helps. Eric

That's pretty interesting, but that's not what I had in mind. Here's a pic of a pistol that has a bottom pic rail that I modified with an ADM adapter that I mounted on an Arca rail to fit my tripod. The new Brocock XM pistol has a bottom pic rail.
I think a short horizontal transom fixed to the vertical section of the tripod could be used as a rifle butt, thereby giving a little more support. I'm not aware of any manufacturer that might make such a transom, that's why I asked.
