House sparrows?

Most every bit of media I find on them they look darker in color than this so i thought id defer to somone with more experience. I have these guys wandering around in large numbers just wiping my bird feeders OUT. I think these are also the fellas trying to nest in my attic....ive put up new screen on attic vents twice now.Are these house sparrows?

Those look like common finch, females. Protected... but I'm not telling you what to do or don't do.

Remember the 3S rule:
Shoot
Shovel
Shut up
Correct! These don't exactly look like sparrows... Sparrows have these streaks of white and black lines across their brown feathers, and a grey "cap" on their head, as well as a white belly.

We have a family farm for critter blasting it isn't something I usually do at home in my neighborhood. I'm hard pressed to even plink here. I'm always just surprised at the amount of moralizing people feel obligated to do for a simple comment or question.
Gotcha. Yeah, I don't care either way what people do, long as they don't force their crap on me. Way I see it, if I see 100 birds of the same kind and they're pushing everything else out, it needs to be balanced. Those finches do the exact same crap as the house sparrows, but they get a pass because they are indigenous.

I'm sorry that was an overreaction on my part... I was just enjoying a YouTube video of an airgun review the other day and the very first comment I read was basically...oh thank goodness you aren't one of those guys shooting squirrels on a box". And I thought... what the hell is wrong with shooting pest species over bait? They are destructive and a nuisance, and as long as somone does it responsibly and ethically, what business is it of anyones? I guess the internet be like that 🫠

I guess they kind of resemble the lighter color female hosp? But if that's the case, I have a gang of like 15 female only birds hanging out lol, so maybe it is finches.
Wow, 15?! What happened to the male population, did the women nag them to death or something?
