Actually I do not try for perfection and always satisfied when I achieve the "very best that I can do with what I have", . My daddy taught my brother and myself from a very early age to always "do the very best that you can with what you have and life will treat you well" , and it has. He also taught us "to always be thankful for what we have and never complain about what we do not have" and "to always look at the positive." I must confess that the latter has been sometimes a bit challenging .

Along with living on planet Earth for 82 years a certain amount of wisdom is gained, and in my case I have learned to enjoy and appreciate every sun rise and sun set and every second in between .

This may help folks with target data.

One MOA Calculation
How to determine one MOA for any target. Note, MOA = minute of angle.

• Calculate the distance to the target.
• Convert this number to inches or centimeters for metric.
• Double this number, (Diameter of a circle).
• Use Pi, 3.14159 times the number in step 3, (Circumference of a circle is Pi x D).
• Divide this number by 21,600, (Note 21,600 = minutes in a circle, 360 degrees x 60 minutes in one degree).

This number is the one MOA in inches, or centimeters if used, for this target at the calculated distance or range. Group shots measured center to center.
Example:
100 yards to target.

• 100 x 3’ x 12” = 3600” to target.
• 3600” x 2 = 7200”, (Diameter of 100 yard circle in inches).
• Pi 3.14159 x 7200” = 22,619.448”, (Circumference of 100 yard circle).
• 22,619.448”/21,600 = 1.04719”, (One MOA at 100 yards in inches).

This number is usually rounded to 1” for the one MOA at 100 yards.

The one MOA = 1” is an ARC measurement and not a straight line as it is a very small section, 1” of the overall circle circumference at 100 yards.

A trivia note – one MOA on the moon is about 69.5 miles, 111.85 Kilometers! (238,900 miles, 384,472.28 Kilometers to the moon).

Once again thats incredible shooting So when I shot at 25yards if my calculations are correct I should be hitting a 1/4" circle?? Wow I'm no where near that? I totally understand/respect someone now when they say they shoot with that particular rifle sub moa. Hmm when I look thru a scope I see movement , must be the coffee and of course. Once again great shooting Sir...

Huh, in my case it is the what I “used to have”—namely, the most excellent eyesight of my youth and early- to mid-adulthood! Can’t buy that back!

But I still try to improve with what I have now anyway. Sure beats aimlessly looking to be entertained.

For me , I expect all my quality airguns to shoot a ragged hole at 25y and under 1" at 50y, wind or no wind . I've never used a vice and some days I just shoot better than others. I do strive for one hole groups at 50 but it just doesn't happen every day. And 80 mile from the coast, we get a lot of wind from the west. I do practice in windy conditions to be a better hunter.

Thomas, I hope your airguns don't sell because you will surely be missed. You always have good challenges and show the amazing accuracy of airguns while setting the bar high for guys like me.

I am with you 100% that all ( at least all PCP ) air rifles should be able to shoot at least MOA at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. However I must say that wind can be a factor and depending on how much wind.
