How and Where can I get an AEA repaired? (SOLVED)

I got an AEA Megladon from an unreputable AEA dealer. On about the 25th shot something fell out of the gun and it no longer cocks.

The dealer does not care and will do nothing for me. I will give you a hint: The guy likes to ship his stuff single boxed so there's always a hole in the box when you get it. It is not fox and it is not "the shop". Those two guys are what would be called reputable dealers.

What does someone do who has an AEA that needs to get repaired? I don't mind paying money. $100 an hour seems fair to me.

What does someone do in this situation?

Maybe contact AEA and tell them about the gun and the dealer, seems like they wouldnt want that type of dealer doing business for them. If you purchased gun with credit card and its still in warranty period dispute it with credit card company.. better yet tell everyone who this dealer is instead of hinting about them.
That piece almost looks like pot metal.

The other dealers warned me about him. They had been discussing him because he did not cover warranties.... And they were asking who was giving this guy guns? He is being supplied through a distributor.... Not AEA themselves.

I suspect that when confronted directly he will make this transaction right just to make it go away. I won't be able to do any more videos with that company though obviously.

And once again you should tell everyone who they are to help to avoid others from getting screwed over by this dealer..posting this just to try to apply leverage on the dealer doesnt help anyone from avoiding making your mistake. I would think that AEA would make it right no matter what if gun is under warranty.

Guys, I didn't want Fox to offer to fix my gun for free, which they would have if they knew it was me. I wanted to find out if they really repair guns. On the Megalodon, I also let the local guy I sold it too, who was 10 shots in when it broke, to contact the "bad dealer", to see if the rumors were true of not covering AEA warranties...it was. ...so anyway. I sent this email to Fox anonymously as "John Smith" to see what they would say.

Here was thier answer:

Hi John,

We are an authorized repair service for AEA.

Our cost to repair is $80/hours plus any parts needed.
Our technician will create a work order with the full details and the cost of the repairs for approval.
Once it is approved, we will continue with the repairs.
When the repairs are completed, we will send an invoice for payment.
Once we have your payment, we will send your air gun back to you.

If you decide to send it our way, Please make sure you have removed all additional items (Scopes or lights).
Clearly mark your name on the box and make sure we have your contact information.
Here is our shipping address: Fox Air Power, 709 W Noble, Visalia, CA 93277.

Just curious, who did you get the Megalodon from?

You may be right. I'll have my lawyer B.A.B. check into that. That makes sense though. I know it would be considered unprofessional for me to "throw shade" around, since I have a Youtube channel. Everything I say get's taken super seriously.

I said something kind of derogatory in a joking manner about Umarex in a Reply to a comment on my Zelos video. Apparently Umarex reads EVERY comment and also the comment's replies. So out of like 600 comments they saw it and were like: "We were about to thank you for the great video, but then we saw this..." But my Umarex contact is probably my favorite out of all my contacts. The dude is not afraid to say no, he communicates whether the subject is pleasant or not. 99% of people will just ignore you unless there is only sunshine and roses. A true friend will tell you when you're screwing up.

Another person I always really liked was Donny at Baker Airguns. Back in the day, when most the airgun companies would not respond to my emails. Donny would always respond and say they didn't need any videos. Eventually he would simply send an email back saying "No". I used to love that. I don't know if he even works at Baker anymore. I do know he still plays guitar.

Yeah, that's how hard it was back then. Getting a No made you happy because it's better than being ignored by people you're trying to help. (sell guns)

Heres sonething to ponder... If this gun is still under warranty, under the warranty terms and conditions, then there shouldn't be a monetary charge to the consumer for a defective pot metal part being replaced after breaking under normal use, even from Fox Air. A warranty is a binding contract. An authorized warranty dealer who takes on warranty work, (no matter what type of warranty or manufacturer, ie auto, home appliance, airgun, etc) can not charge the customer per the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and especially if there is a written and published warranty. Now, if the dealer/warranty center does not get funds from AEA for their warranty work, that's between them two and their business contract, and not the consumer.

If I am reading your posts right you only put 15 shots through it before you SOLD it to someone else? Then HE put 10 more shots through it and it broke on him? Why did you sell it after 15 shots? Not sure about AEA but most companies only offer the warrantee to the original purchaser? Is this a gun you received for free to do a video on? I could be reading this wrong and if I am I apologize but if not why would they be obligated to fix it if you sold it?

Probably not a great idea with your video making gig to disparage. I didn’t know that was a rule. I got obliterated off archery talk for very aggressively and a few times inappropriately disparaging ultimate finishers in NY (I believe). They 10000% deserved it and I didn’t care. Was fun while it lasted. Even made me never buy another Elite bow because those turds started doing the finishes on them.

So you're asking/telling the OP to secure a lawyer or represent himeslf in court over a poopty warranty? Have you read the company in questions warranty policy? Does the sate it is sold from offer consumer protections? Does the state it was bought from honor the other states consumer laws? Lot's of questions to be answered before going nuclear/nuculere with an act of congress.
