I ran out of pellets and the temps are supposed to drop to highs in the mid 30's, which raised the question in my mind, when is it too cold to tune?

Too many variables and value judgments at play here for me to assert anything definitive. The degree to which any given gun responds to temperature changes is all over the spectrum. I’ll just say if I have a new gun that I want to play with and it happens to be 30F outside, you’ll find me in the carport shooting out across the property, and you’ll see a chronograph and some hand tools nearby.

I've been doing it in spite of the temps from under my covered porch, I was just wondering if I was just wasting time and pellets. I figured I may have to tweak it later, but at least it's a starting point.

I would be doing the same thing, shooting and adjusting.
Time to adjust your settings in spring, if you notice a difference.

I know it's the opposite, but I apparently need to turn my hammer spring up from 12 to 13 on my M3 to keep the same tune that I obtained in the summer. I'll take it.
