I just joined too. Got my first PCP about a month ago. FX Dreamline powerpup and love it. Think i am pretty much done with break barrels. Ran across a WTS post and joined. Maybe it will still be available in 10 days? Yeah right!

Access to the PM system is tied to the Classified section. You must have 10 days presence and 10 meaningful posts that contribute to the forum. Endlessly posting "why can't I PM???" does not gain access to the premium membership experience.
And - yes your attempt to contact the member is in regards to an item offered for sale - IOW, a Want to Buy/Trade/Sell posting:

It is the buyers and seller's responsibility to decide whether or not the other party is trustworthy. Most scammers target WTB ads and operate via Private Message, but some also post publicly. AGN has provided you with several tools to help research Members

In the classifieds section. Hit that circle led part where it says rules and in the second paragraph. It will tell you.
I'm sure it is repeated several times and pops up in other areas as well.
