FX How I achieved the desired accuracy with my Panthera Compact Hunter .25 Cal

Two very easy and quick things:

- Recrown the barrel; and

- Made the exit of the shroud a little bit wider:

Before and why I was angry:

After the two correctives this group is at 88 yards:

Looks like you're having chicken for dinner because it is now a winner. How many shots in your second group?

Four shots, I had to go running to a compromise with my wife.

The point is that now the rifle is grouping perfectly.

Now I just have to deal with the slow leak until I found someone with the skills (that I do not have) to dissasamble the rifle and fix it.

Four shots is noteworthy in my book, looks like 3! So GJ!

Leaking out from the barrel? If so bummer, one of the worse leak to deal with imo. Best of luck!

Wow! That is some great improvement, I am just now starting to work on tuning my new Panthera and haven‘t done and groups on paper yet. How did you re-crown the liner? What method did you use to modify the “ exit of the shroud” to make it bigger? Thanks for sharing your results.

Some years ago I bought an strange drill tip. Later on after watching on YouTube how to recrown a barrel, I decide to use my strange drill tip to do so.

The result is amazing in 100% of the cases I have used it (that are many!).

My Panthera would leak off about 100 bar a week after I first got it. I sent it back to FX twice. I think they got it fixed after the second time. I love the rifle so much, not a big deal. FX was very supportive and very helpful, as was Bin at the Pellet Shop, which is where I purchased the rifle from in the first place.
Did they told you where the leak was?

I just gave a try to the H&N Baracudas.

I found that my Panthera and those pellets seem to be made one for the other. The accuracy and flight of those pellets in my Panthera is absolutely perfect.

The Panthera has the micro weel at 2.75 and the regulator set at 122 Bar.

I do not have a huge stock of those pellets so I need to make a correction on that.

Last night I gave a try to the Barracudas 31.02 grain and the michoweel at 3.2.... I made some shooting at 190 yards. There was no wind.

The accuracy and power was absolutely perfect !!!..... Unbeatable !!!
