How I keep cool in this crazy heat

I have a swamp cooler under my shooting table, I keep a couple of gallons of water in refrigerator and four two pound ice blocks I put in the water tray, I sometimes also have a ice vest on and a ice bag in my lap, The temp gauge may read 110 degrees under my back porch but I am pretty cool for a while, AS they say its a dry heat so not so bad. There are no flys and bugs out when its this hot, The sparrows get pretty stupid coming in for water and feed, I had to put out dog food for the garackles they don't seem to Like the grain?

Imagine you are unable to sweat - !
I wear ice collars and pour water over my head to prevent heat related illnesses

Crazy hot summer for some of you this year.
I was just out shooting this afternoon, mosquitoes were my only battle.

Reactions: Hateful McNasty
Raining at my place (North of Toronto) every day for random hours since mid July, yesterday I could mowe my lawn for first time almost a foot high.
Temp is swinging day/night 23/12 C (73/53F) with humidity in high 90's, if a day has no rain the Temp jumps to almost 40C (105F) and humid burns the lungs out. Visited a beach today after tree weeks, cold wind high waves, high bacteria...

We’ve had some pretty humid days lately here in NE Ohio, basically along Lake Erie. Was out last Sunday putting my tree stand up, just taking my time in the shade in the woods and was soaked. Fortunately no mosquitos.
To keep somewhat cool I hang a wet, nearly dripping towel around my neck and keep hydrated.
Going to a permission this morning to help split wood for 3 or 4 hours. Todays high 77 with 85% humidity.

I work in a concrete building. It absorbs a ton of heat. Of course I work in the corner where the heat radiates the worse in the shop. I have a swamp cooler but I don't always use it because every time I am not in front of it I'm aware of how miserably hot it is. Sometimes when I do use it, I get less work done as I'm trying to stay in front of the cooler.

Pretty sure it's been called summer. Central Valley is always too friggin' hot during the summer, where I am it's been very very mild, very unusual.
We have had some extremely hot days this year breaking 110 quite a few times this year. But I do agree this Central valley is always hot during the summer. Let me ask you something especially if you have been in the Valley along time. When its blistering hot during the day, do you ever remember (except recently) that you needed to put on a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt at night. Especially when it's in 3 digits during the day? It never has been that way until recent times!

Does the extreme heat cause pellets to hit high? I'm thinking it does.
It must with pellets because It definitely does with PB bullets. As the air temperature rises, air density decreases. Lower air density equals less air resistance, and your POI moves higher. In an inverse non gun equivalent, my radio control helicopters are very sharp and precise in cooler weather. The blades bite hard into that cool dense air. As the air temperature rises, lift decreases and control inputs progressively become more and more imprecise and mushy.
