How is this gamo for a beater 22...

It's fine man but honestly I go with the refurb hatsan airtact guns. They are 40 bucks plus shipping. They are just as accurate as anything else under 200 bucks. With springers I either go as cheap as humanly possible for beater guns or I go expensive and get an hw or something like that. I have tuned crosman, hatsan and Gamo springers and I can say they are all OK. Sometimes you get a bad seal but they will all send you a new one or fix it if you have to. Honestly If your willing to spend over 100 bucks I'd get it from a box store so you can just return it at the store if it has something wrong with it. My air tact had a bad breech seal and hatsan sent me 5 new ones. If it was a piston seal I would have had to pay shipping to send it back. Usually the piston seal is OK with refurb tho. Good luck to you.

I have the swarm version with the 10 rd magazine and I'm very pleased with it.

I was able to get quarter sized groupings once i got the scope it came with zeroed in.

Your basic crossman dome pellets wirked best for me in both accuracy and hitting power. They were the only pellets that penetrated my 3/4 rubber backstop (at 15m) while even penetratirs were just bouncing off.

I would definitely recomend the swarm version, asit gives you more time shooting and less time loading.

The few times i missed were from poor trigger control.

Quarter at what range? 15 meters? Any issues with the magazine yet?

I'm with Raden. I've bought several Hatsan Edge and AirTact refurbs, never had any problems with the ones I did and all 3 shot very well for $50 rifles.
Bought mine to use for spare parts for other guns but all 3 could have easily been used for daily beater, plinking or pesting rifles to stick behind a truck seat or a quick grab gun for in the shop or rainy/snowy days no one wants to take their better guns out in.
