How Long Can I Run My Yong Heng?

Good advice - head temp vs motor temp. I do run a pretty robust fan into the motor area whenever running the compressor.

My setup does about the same - 9L/88cuft tank 200 to 300 bar top off in about 13-15 minutes. No leaks!

Is that a muffin fan on the YH ? Is your add on fan blowing air in the same direction as the muffin fan ( if it’s a muffin fan). If it’s not blowing the same direction it’s going to burn up. I’m thinking if it were mine I would re-do it so the larger fan was the only fan but doing some electrical magic so the add on fan is always running.
When I had my Omega, it had a switch for the water pump and a switch for the compressor motor. I made a separate electrical box that had a plug, outlet, toggle switch and 60 minute timer on it.
The plug on it went in the 120V outlet, and the compressor plugged into the outlet on my electrical box I built. When I wanted to compress air I put the toggle switch in the run position and then turn on the water pump on the compressor. Once I verified that water was flowing I turned on compressor motor. Once my air compressing was done I turned off compressor motor at the compressor and then on my electrical box I built I flipped the toggle switch to the TIMER position and turned the timer to whatever minutes I desired, up to 60. Usually 20 minutes.
Then when time expired the water pump shut off. That way I didn’t have to hang around for 20 minutes while the water pump ran. Not that if it ran for 24 hours or so would be a problem, but everything has a finite life.

Nope, no muffin fan. Pictured is the Yong Heng air pump which has it's own internal fan and a large fan directly behind the Yong Heng. The Yong Heng fan "sucks" air into the unit and the large fan blows in the same direction. I also run the cooling water for a few minutes before and after using the compressor. Yong Heng states that the temperature range should be between 50 and 70 degrees centigrade. My setup runs at about 54 centigrade. This YH is fairly new. Your setup looks nice. Do you use ice in the cooling water to keep your temperature so low? I ran mine for 15 minutes today to take my 45 minute SCBA tank from a little over 3000 to a little over 4000 psi and I got to about 63 degrees C. I use a radiator on the cooling water with a fan but I do not have an extra blower or fan on the YH. In the winter the room the compressor is in is cooler and the head temperature stays below 60 C. I've been thinking of adding a fan on the YH, if you are doing this without ice I definitely need to add the fan. I have used ice but I don't normally since I can air my tank up with the one run.

I use a smaller extra air filter and I have it mounted higher so any water drains all the way back to the YH where I vent it every 5 minutes. It seems to keep the color changing dessicant beads in my extra filter from seeing much moisture. I only have to change them maybe once a year. I do collect some water in the YH filter, however. I change it after every run. Today it had a noticable amount of water in it when I squeezed it. Still pretty humid here in SC. I bought one of the big gold filters but haven't installed it yet because the little filter seems to work fine.

I freeze water in several iced tea bottles (8-9 at a time) and put them in the recirculating water which is a 5 gallon bucket and the fan behind the YH definitely helps. I tried using ice but it melts too quickly. If I'm doing a long run I switch out the ice bottles because the ice melts after a few 15 minute cycles. With my setup pictured above the head temperature never gets above 54 celsius. When you install the Tuxing (big gold) filter make sure it is vertical and fed from the bottom.I usually run for 15 minutes at a time and purge the moisture from the YH every 5 minutes. Our humidity here in Canyon Lake Texas can be anywhere from 30% to 90% !
