I take that back, Tractor Supply is the reason for my new insanity by selling the Umarex synergis.
Knew nothing of air guns 6 weeks ago.

I buy them all on line. I actually have a well stocked local dealer/Range. Everything he has is full list and I am more of a deal hunter. I do all my own work so if he closes tomorrow it won’t be a loss to me. I only mention that to head off any use him or miss him comments.

Am I the only one curious about why so many of these newer accounts start out by asking some version of the same question then disappear after the all too willing respond? Feds on fishing trips?

I think the exiting of newbies has to do with the over response of many many members saying the same thing " read the rules " . If members would read the first few (3?) member responses saying that then that statement should stop . 20 members do not need to sat the same thing .

Absolutely agree with that. Rather than just leave a thread alone many will pounce on new folks needlessly, every forum has that sadly. What I'm getting at is the air gun forums these last years are seeing more like this one. Questions like how many do you all have, how do you buy them, do you use moderators, etc etc..
Something this forum has lost since I stopped lurking and joined. Used to be a moderator had to be called a moderator. Now they are commonly referred to as a silencer. Hope I'm wrong but losing the distinctions reeks of the path to regulation.

so I've been a member long enough to forget the rules but I honestly try to err on the safe side to stay within what I think the rules were.. again the forum moderators have literally helped me so much, I likely would have left this forum a year ago if it was not for a wonderful person.. helping me..

honestly I am also confused about what the rules are for airgun moderator,I hope not to get in trouble asking this but at one point it was posted and made perfectly clear that moderator talk, selling and everything related to it was not acceptable..then I would guess around 2 months ago one of the forum moderators had a whole string on them.. so that makes me think,of course not knowing.. that when you couldn't buy a Donny FL for awhile, that there was legal issues.. possibly some got resolved?
I did post to the moderator and PM him to ask for a link to the rules and what is ok and what is not.. unfortunately I never got a response..
I'm so thankful that there's people who run this site and most are extremely helpful.. possibly the reply I didn't get was just a accident because of other pressing issues.

The reason for the rule is if you start selling just moderators, a federal agency will come knocking at your door. "Hi, we're from the Government and here to help".

Im pretty sure that in 30+ years of airguns, ive bought them all but one online. I was on a vacation trip out west one time and went to AOA and bought a DS electronic. As far as I can remember all the others came from online sources.

A few. Most in person, one over the phone.
Working at Northeast Airguns, I get calls daily about selling firearms, magazines and bullets. Every time I tell them we only sell airguns I get hung up on. It's certainly a gov't agency trying to catch us doing things we don't. Were it not for the possibility of going straight to jail, I'm tempted to say yes, and see what happens when they come to raid and the only firearm is my carry.
