In Illinois it would only buy me a week or something and no air rifles allowed yet anyway. If/when we can I want to buy a Quackenbush LA Outlaw .458. For now I have a crossbow and can hunt from 10/1 - 1/15 minus the days for firearm season.
I'm also waiting for pa deer hunting with big bores!!!! At least they are legal here for ground hogs and coyotes. Maryland and Virginia are nice friendly airgun states.
Been hunting since they made it legal in Mi. The rifle and gear are in the truck now. Waiting to head north in the morning for opening week. Taking the AEA .45 this year. Will use the .40 Badger here at home next week.
Hunting white tail in my new back yard in WV on / after the 22nd with a .457 Texan LSS. It's been a hell of a lot more accurate than the .45 Texan carbine that I had last year, and prefers 333gr Mr. Hollowpoint HPs (touching groups at 50y with an NX8 1-8).
All of these deer out here look tiny compared to the mule deer in WA state lol. So I'm planning to take one buck and one antlerless.
This my second year with the AEA .50 cal. Challenger but haven't shot one yet. This is one heavy gun to pull up into a tree stand, I need to put thicker, heavier draw rooms on my stands!
Unfortunately no deer on my island ( deer on every other island of the chain ) otherwise I would be hunting much more, kinda getting bored of Wild boar.
