How many shots?

Crowski, I'm in the same boat with landscape and garden. Seems like every day there’s something. When I can get to go to range, I tend to shoot a couple hundred rounds. In winter, I shoot in basement (pistols) and shoot around 50 shots nearly every day. I also shoot indoors at our Sportsman's Club 25 yard range in winter and shoot till I'm bored or tired os shooting.
I not doing any more big jobs. Built rock walls, up to 7 ft. high, Used boulders up to 6 tons. All excavated off this property. Next is gun range, can’t wait. Crow

I’m really fortunate to be able to shoot everyday. My shop is across the yard and I’ll often take shooting breaks.
On the days when everything comes together I’ll shoot a half a tin. And some days I don’t shoot at all.
Yesterday I shot at least 100 shots…at flys lol. I can’t imagine what life would be like without pellet guns…

A few dozen per day when I can. Depends on what's on schedule chore wise, etc. But am blessed I can shoot almost everyday. Now, back to weed whacking and grass cutting... Then a few shots of Bourbon, I mean pellets this evening to cap it off.😏
L. Leon that’s great. My first job was cutting grass in the 60’s at a golf course. I think I would rather install wall paper than cut grass now. Crow

If I'm lucky, I get 100 - 200 in on a weekend, weather and toddler permitting.
When I can't get out, I can usually do other airgun related things like my Beeman SS1000T project.
Oh, and since you requested range ideas, here's mine. Just a square frame on tv stand legs, backed by a 4x6 stall mat and floor rug combination. Gives me a nice platform for all kinds of targets.

I have a couple guns that I’m trying to find what I would consider perfection with them. Any time I make a change or disassemble them, it’s a whole barrage of shooting to find a good setting. These two guns essentially burn me out on shooting for a while. I just did an unregulated gun. It required a FX amount of lead as I tested different mods, pressures and bell curves. I don’t even want to look at that gun for a while. The good thing is it’s ready to go when I recover. For me it’s weird. I want all my guns to be grab and go. No flip flopping calibers and constantly adjusting them. But there’s a side of me that after a while, I would poke a good gun with a stick to aggravate it. Then I could get some serious range time with a purpose. I all but quit doing that with most of my guns. By owning two of a certain make of gun and shooting slugs, there is always the have to shoot, not the I want to shoot. I think I’m kinda like dizzums, I only like to shoot with a purpose. Either testing/tuning or taking out a critter. Endlessly shooting at paper or spinners to impress myself won‘t fill the shots per week hole. Quality shots per week for me does. Be it 3 or 300.
Vetmx I’m eons behind you. Eager to learn. Not at all bored. Yesterday I shot easly 3-4 hundred rounds. Normally I shoot 2 different riles every day, Yesterday I broke my tradition and shot HW50 .22, this is a dream. HW98 .177 laser, HW50 black .177, first and all shots were right on, HW80k .22, solid and accurate. HW77 .25, couldn’t put down, half a tin, HW 97kt .177, can’t beat a 97. Last went back to HW50 .22
Have probably 40 springers, three I never shot since new Jan. but I will. All I consider are squirrel guns. Don’t like squirrels! With target practice constant the squirrels rarely escape. 49 so far this year. Crow

If I'm only pesting, which is most weeks, I only shoot 0-20 rounds in a week, i.e. these are "shots taken in anger".

On special weeks where I take my son to the gun range I'll shoot 200-400 rounds. But that's target shooting.

I know that feeling. I think the adrenaline kicks in.
Good for you to take your son . Enjoy Crow

I'm lucky, i can shoot anytime I feel like it. Usually two or three times a week. I almost never do more than twenty five or thirty shots at a time. Quality over quantity if I shoot too much, I'm just wasting time and ammo and reinforcing bad habits. I practice offhand a lot ( because I sux at it ) and it's the shooting skill that goes away the fastest for me. Taking ten or fifteen offhand shots kicks my old ass but I feel like it's the most I can do before fatigue and lack of concentration begin to take over. If you throw in extreme temperatures , high winds or low light it might be more like six or eight is all I'm good for.

This(y)(y)

Offhand is draining for sure. After years of it being the majority of my shooting, can usually do 50 no problem, up to 100 most of the time. Some days I'm toast by 50. But even on a good day, much over 100 & it's spittin' in the wind. Like you said- reinforcing bad habits (or creating new ones).
If I just want to shoot more (& often do), will get out the sticks or bags.

I have to be a but economical. My property is a square acre, but I've got neighbors to three sides and a road to the other. Means I have a very small zone I can actually use to shoot. Fortunately, most of my neighbors are either vets or gun nuts, so I don't get any complaints.

I think you did a post a while back about shooting flies. It was first time I heard that, thought that was so cool. Couldn’t get something to attract flies quick enough. 25yd. 18 my best. And this guy landed on my table, only got him in the legs. 1523CD2C-28D0-48EE-A894-3365AF3B4B0B.jpeg. Got away. Limping. Thanks Crow

I have to drive to either the range or a friends house to shoot. Managed to go through two tins of pellets and about eight tin cans this weekend. Weather was perfect with barely any wind. Luckily I have no yard chores.
Maxtrouble nothing wrong with that.
Weathers been crazy, yesterday you would sweat when you swim, today windy hit a low in the high 50’s. Crow

I know who I’m sending my next springer to when it needs broken in. It takes me forever to get a tin through one just plinking. Now give me a bunch of pellets to test or scope settings, then I can shoot a bunch. I’m strange I guess. Or just not a plinker anymore.

Vetmx put it in the lineup, I still have new 3 springers I’ve never shot since Jan. Crow
