How much does hydro testing normally cost?

I am considering purchasing a used air tank that is at the 5 yr mark. It will need hydro testing before it can be filled I'm sure. Just spoke with my local dive shop and they quoted me $65. Is that a normal price? I'm thinking I may be better off buying new as I wouldn't be saving all that much after hydro and wouldn't get any kind of warranty either. Any input appreciated.

I see that you're in Georgia. Here in San Diego, CA., a 5 year hydro costs $30 at the dive shop I use (San Diego Divers). They also only charge $5 for a fill to 4500 psi.

I just paid $25 for a 5-yr hydro with a free fill (though they only could fill to 3500psi). That's Danvers, MA.

Check with a local fire extinguisher service, a lot of them do it in house. I went to Harris Fire Protection in Baltimore and it was $30 and ready the next day.

65 is a bit high, 30-45 is typical

40$ near me (Colorado). For 65$ they better polish and wax my bottle with a 4500 psi fill! Hah.
