How Much Pellet Lube?

Not much.. theres only 2 points the pellet makes contact in the barrel, the widest parts of the head and skirt.

Also if you use too much and get lube inside of the back of the skirt you may experience that detonation stuff .

So overall i just use a thin flim of lube in a canister and "roll" the pellets around in it and try to avoid excess.

In the end its a try it and see what you feel is best for you/ experience thing . Heck you may find it aint even worth the cost or effort overall..

Good luck.

Bill,
Watched a pellet wash/lube video where the guy used Dawn dishwashing liquid, warm water and a wire basket. After washing and drying, sprayed Lemon Pledge on paper towel, placed towel in box, then gently rolled pellets around. Think Mo-Ron is correct on not too much lube, and the pellet/barrel contact points. I've tried washing pellets, Ballistol on paper towel, didn't notice a difference so set that program aside. WM

I have no strong opinion based on my current airgun experience. From long-time lubing powder burner slugs with liquid alox what I would do is add small amounts of alox and tumble the slugs until they had a general light tan color. If I noticed any alox dripping off of them it was too much. Then let them air dry for several days. Air gun analogous procedure might be to use the Ballistol in quick squirts, gently tumble so as not damage skirts and watch for drips. Drips = too much. Just a guideline as I see it. Set them out to dry when done.

Skimming through pictures found this one and a tin like this its worth washing and lubing them up before use..lol

But to add to what i gave above i do it if i find extra dirty tins or if i open a new tin and they dont seem to shoot as good or i feel there off..? ? Not every tin just ones that seem like they need help..

As far as the lube i use i just use Alphabet org like type f or dextron. I also " shoe shine" buff them well in a lightly near to dry Alphabet org rag .. you can dang near see your reflection off them😉. This is just one of the things everyone has his way and you just find whats best for you

I have been using Dupont chain wax from wallyworld, cough cough spit spit
use an old tin with the foam , spray both foams and put in about a half of tin full and roll around, and when low just add more pellets
put tape on the lubing tin and write on the tape as to what lube is used, masking tape works for me, apply more lube to foam or replace foam as needed, see a lot of lead flakes stick to the foam
for my foamless Crosman tins I cut down foam from my JSB/AA/FX 500ct tins

i did the spray on a paper towel and then gently roll pellets across the towel , use the smoother side of the paper . works great .

I use 100% silicone and only use a very very light amount , using anything but silicone might dammage o rings and could leave a film in your barrel that could make it rust faster and wax or oil will burn or ignite under presure
petroleum lubes will cause dieseling in SPRINGER airguns, I have had zero problems in a PCP, as to damaging o-rings, bunaN is made for oils! I have used bunaN o-rings to rebuild mechanical seals in pumps that pump oil, back when I was in the working force. And the wax based chain lube will not harm bunaN o-rings,, and both help to prevent rust. You need air, iron, and water to make rust.

but as to dirtying up your Delta wolf crony, that is a separate issue and could be a cause not to lube, I don't know about those measuring devices and how they work.
