That's not true. I caught two skunks in cuffs. The first one the skunk reach in and set off the cuff. After that I welded a 2-inch extension so they couldn't reach in as far and set it off. Unfortunately the second skunk got caught it was trying to reach in his back foot hit the trigger on the outside and set it off. It was a smelly mess.

I am new here , but have helped many skunks achieve shots room temperature ! I have found that the best shot for no spraying is a lung shot, bigger target than the heart. They act like they got a bee sting. And dont associate that with something dangerous needing to be sprayed. Some youtube videos showing a fast kill brain shot, then after two seconds the skunk will shudder as the nervous system shuts down and then they totally dump the bag !

We have a ton of them here. Nothing gets unnoticed for very long. Most things are gone by mid morning.

The buzzards will clean up but I have seen where they broke the bag while eating and it smelled like a full on spray out !
