How much velocity and F.P.E. could you lose with a damaged piston seal? Some very small nicks and tears along the outer rim? Bigger nicks and tears? Would an internal tear of the piston seal affect your velocity and power output? Thanks.

it would be proportional to the damage .. id say a tear your about out of business .. if its not in good shape you could easily be down a couple hundred fps ...

What do you have? What is it currently shooting. Depends on caliber as well. Overall the fitting of the piston seal as well as age and any cuts will effect accuracy. Let me know what you have.

The loss of FPS is less concerning than the damage to the rest of the gun and scope. It may feel instant but the design is based on the air providing a cushion and the seal preventing metal to metal hammering at the end of the stroke. Please do not continue to shoot a gun with a damaged seal.

My HW95L .22 went from 625/635 FPS to average 716 FPS after replacing this seal with a Vortek one & installing an ARH kit with GPL-205, Krytox lube.

This was brought to me the other day. The customer told me the recoil was bad and his gun just wasn't shooting right. I was amazed that it even worked? This was bought new and the customer told me he never lubed it? This was a Crosman NP-2. The gas ram checked out good ordered parts and the gun is getting 760 fps plus with 14.3 gr Crosman pellets in 22 caliber.

Yup! I ordered a new piston seal from eBay. That seal right there is the original Diana seal from the 90s. Still has the Diana print tag on it. Cool stuff. Rifle is used. Will make a good project for sure.

I like the 34's from the era. Must be a T01 or T05 trigger ? I hate the plastic front sight on the newer ones. Thanks for the pics. Look forward to see your results.

T01. Everything on this one is metal aside from the plastic trigger. Wish they still made em like this one.
