How much water is ok

I've ordered .25 dynamic 700 and plan on using a portable 12v compressor surely the better ones have acceptable built in water striping, I dont see the point in buying a purpose built tool and having to spend heaps more customising it . My questions are does anyone know if the dynamic block and internals are made from all stainless and alloys that are non corrosive , if so then how much problem is some moisture in the air as from what I see no filters remove 100% anyway ? Also has anyone had problems with this set up directly attributed to water?

I'm not sure how much water is okay, but I'd imagine it accumulates somewhere over time and will eventually cause problems so in my not so expert opinion, I'd go for as little moisture as possible. A good filter is a lot cheaper than a new Dynamic. Or any other gun for that matter.

Any pcp internals are going to made from a combination of brass aluminum stainless and rubber for the most part. All are susceptible to water/debris ingress and thus, corrosion. Any moisture and debris that gets into your very delicate tight tolerance pcp will degrade its performance and service life. Your climate can be a big factor in how badly you will need a filter system. Most places in the world have a lot of water content in the air.

None would be ideal but that means buying Nitrogen.
I run a booster not a compressor, for the in-going compressor air I have 18' of cooling condescending pipe with drain valves on the bottom connections, high side of the booster A Gold" filter. Have done a visual inspection (no fancy gear, no water or corrosion apparent.
Lot's to read in the "Tanks, Pumps, Compressors" section of the forum.
And I do not know the poster on this link but the picture towards the bottom(from andyh") is interesting tho I've never dealt with 50% humidity.

Post up a similar question there I I'll wager you get some opinions and real life experiences.

John

ps, also used a hand pimp for 8ish years always stopping the drain air/water every 50 strokes & et pump cool. Never any sign of moisture . Ambient humidity and Pump temp. are you enemy.

...how much problem is some moisture in the air as from what I see no filters remove 100% anyway...
When I noticed a new Impact MK2 just started behaving weird after 2-3 months of shooting I removed the Reg. Here is a pic how it look like when using a simple cotton filter.
Immediately got a water/oil removing - orange towers and permanently mounted to my YH ... At my place is high moisture in air winter summer.
That was 3 years ago. The strange shot strings never happened again.

You don't have to get 100% of the water - just 100% of the existing liquid water, and 100% of the water vapor that will later condense out into liquid when the compressed air charge cools down. Some of the water vapor can (and will) still remain. None of these portable compressors have adequate filtration on them as purchased to do this.

For more explanation on the details of this you can read this post I made a while ago: https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/compressor-filters-do-they-really-work.1297949/#post-1578086

wadejoebra,,, where do you live?

if in Florida or other high humidity get a convalescing unit/ an air water separator, and a desiccant filter
if you live in Aridzonia, not so much, with frequent checks on your tampon filter, you will soon see how effective it is.
but proper air drying and filtration is a must for any pneumatic system,,, cheap units that lack it, are cheap units
