how should I filter the air moisture out using my compressor GX PUMP E-CS4?

Hi guys

now that i got the monster zeus it needs feeding like all the time and the air moisture is really on my mind..

after charging my 700cc bottle and bleeding the air out of the hose i see moisture which is no surprise but it tells me i need to install some filtering..

can you share with me which filters you are using with your compressors and how-to?

thanks

You can get an inline filter from Amazon , there are many choices , I got one from Amazon that cost about 70 dollars and added it in line where air goes through the smaller one that came with my compressor first then through the larger filter I bought. I also got a bottle of desiccant and filled the one from amazon with that. you will probably get many answers on what’s good to use filter wise. I wanted to just say be sure and use gravity to your advantage. Many people will place gun or tank below the level of the air outlet on thier compressor. If you keep gun/tank above that outlet any moisture that condensates in the line as liquid can’t get to your gun. Personally I think the midrange inline filters do well, I also have an AEA , but a megalodon, that Zeus was too big for me. It’s just a 50 cal and it has 600cc and doesn’t get many shots per fill. If you want a pic of my exact setup just reply, I would have just added it now but I’m not near my compressor at this moment. It will be a couple hours then I’ll be home where I could snap one. I starTed with just the tiny filter that came with my first compressor, I’ve fill gun tanks many times and I have inspected the inside of my rear gun tank and it was spotless and dry. Also, if your running that CX pump on the house current through a power supply either built in or separate. Make sure it’s suppling enough amps, the best option to power those is an automobile battery that’s connected to a running vehicle. They are powered by a 12 volt DC motor and they pull well over 20 amps running under load. A weak power supply can make the electric motor run hot and shorten its life span. I almost bought a CX pump, it was the 12 volt DC motor that made me choose something different. Should your motor inside your compressor ever fail, those 12 volt dc motors are relatively cheap on line, replacing one is normally fairly easy as well. Hope something in that was helpful. I think if I had a Zeus I would consider a carbon fiber tank, you can get used out of date fireman bottles dirt cheap from eBay. If your filling it yourself expired doesn’t matter. They expire 15 years after they are made in the U.S. but the same bottle has a 30 year life across the Atlantic. I got two and both work perfectly. Happy shooting , I also think I might check into casting my own slugs for that monster, just a thought. I’m sure it’s a fun gun to own though. my AEA has held up great so far, it was my first pcp airgun. AEA seems to make a quality product based on my limited experience with one so far anyway. Shoot straight my friend.

I thought of one more thing, I have never figured out how to edit these posts. I don’t know which CX pump you have , but I think the one I was looking at had some built in water and oil seperator/filter. Even with an inline filter you will get some moisture when you bleed your fill line sometimes, the more air you pump the more water and maybe oil will exit that bleeder. I have a longer fill line and I get enough to wet my fingers when I bleed the line after topping off one of my tanks. Sorry to go on and on, I’m riding and figured I would attempt at least to be helpful. Hope something in all that was.

Thank you!

yes, please send me pictures of your setup..

i am sure remembering that my pump has some build in filters but i dont see how i could drain those filters inside the pump- do you know how?

i have E-CS4

I run an air Venturi small cotton type filter that I bought from pyramid and then connect that to one of the larger cannister filters filled with dessicant beads that are offered on Amazon. Can buy both the beads and filter. I have a gx 2 I have been running almost 2 years no problems off the external power supply plugged into the wall. No problems at all. The allure for me was they run slow and don’t draw a lot of power. Maybe I’m wrong 🤷‍♂️
