Has anyone adjusted (lightened) the safety on a Taipan Veteran Gen 1? I just acquired a used one and the safety is considerably more difficult to move on and off than I remember on previous ones I’ve owned.

there is a screw on mine , pull side plate off 2 screws on the saftey rod you will see a screw , maybe the adjustment is out of wack like some took gun apart and tightened the main allen screws on different place then readjusted trigger to compensate , anyway loosten screw to adjust while you there clean and do ALL TRIGGER adjustments to your desire and lube and put cover back on

First thoughts to come to mind is, how light is the trigger adjusted too?

Taipan Veteran safety not working right
The safety has gotten stiff sometimes now to where I literally cannot even engage it and have to decock the gun to walk around while hunting. Does anyone have a simple guide or diagram (or explanation) showing how to disassemble and reassemble whatever needs fixing? Thanks

The trigger linkage is not adjusted properly. The trigger link rod either has to be moved further back in the groove seat in the trigger compartment and if it's already as far back as it can go, the bracket assembly needs to be adjusted forward about a 1/4" secured and then fine adjust the trigger linkage rod and secure. You will know it's correct because the trigger breaks real clean and the safety clicks on and off easily.

Well I got it figured out and I am almost embarrassed to say that all it took was some lubrication on the switch itself. It was really dry and gritty feeling and difficult to operate. Now it’s smooth as silk. Duh!

told you lol clean and lube or adjust great u git it fixed , I do maintenance LIKE 1X yr and if i get leaks I usually reseL my gun and service my regs but them taipans require very little once they set up LOU
