There are quite a few different ways to build a pellet trap depending on your needs and what's available to you. While some airgunners like to use Duct seal, or stuff a box with old clothing... one of the quietest and most durable mediums for a pellet trap is rubber mulch.

Here is simple and effective rubber mulch bucket "shot box" that we use for tuning & chronograph work

At this time a 5 gallon bucket is $4.50, rubber mulch is $7.47, and replaceable lids are $2.28

A rubber mulch trap of this depth can successfully catch thousands of projectiles from most low - medium power airguns. *Though we recommend you always test penetration with a safe backstop.
