How to make an Aea challenger .30 cal easier to cock ?

For everyone else... Sonny's 30 cal Challenger is bolt action and yeah they're pretty stiff. Not the same as the side lever on the newer Big Bore Challengers or Challenger Pro.

I had a Bison Workshop cocking handle on mine. Then I would use my thumb behind the action and cock it pretty easily with a firm squeeze of the hand. That was on a Challenger SL 357 so if anything probably a little stiffer (or the same) as your 30 cal.

Grease it up good too.

What do you mean easier? I have the AEA Challenger bullpup 50 cal and it cocks fine, I mean it takes a tiny bit of force to pull it back but my 10-year-old son is able to do it so maybe there's something wrong with your gun if it's really that hard to cock it.
Thanks ,I can cock it but it's a bear. Bin Tac is sending me a spring to try that. My wife can't cock it at all lol. I guess I am gonna try the spring if that doesn't work time to send it back.

What is the site for that handle ?

Yes sounds like there might be something wrong with it, Bin Will do his best to fix it though or he will give you either another one or a refund, if not for him I would not even mess with AEA guns. I also have a 35 cal HP Max, that one is harder to cock then my 50 cal bullpup but it's still manageable. I had a 25 cal HPSS semi-auto and I was not impressed with that, pain in the ass to load cuz you have to hold back the lever to get the magazine in, it does not let you know when it's empty so it just keeps firing and wasting air, just bad design all around.

The one I had was more similar to the short one. I'm pretty sure your gun is operating normally. My wife couldn't cock my Challenger SL either. I mean, she could, but with some difficulty.

But it should be harder to cock & lock the bolt all the way back (like you're inserting a magazine) than it is to just cock it and cycle the magazine. You don't need to pull it 100% the way back to cycle the magazine.

I found over time it broke in a bit and got easier as I got used to it and built strength in my right palm.

Yeah he is a very nice guy and he said we would try this first or I could just send it back. Yeah I am just getting started out bought two others just have not had the weather here to get out with them. Can't wait though but northern Arizona has been very cold and lots of snow over the past three weeks.

Ok Thanks and I am gonna try to get it easier. Was considering a local gunsmith that has done some custom work on my powder burners in the past for me.

I went the entry level to make sure it is something that I am gonna like but sure I will especially saving the money for Ammo with my powder burners. The other two was the Hatsan Blitz .30 and the JTS Aracuda .25. I am probably gonna go FX once I get the bug.
Nice choice on the Blitz! Fun as all get out. Puts a $#!+ eating grin on your buddies faces every time you let em let loose with it. So much fun.

A regulator and lighter hammer spring. When I han my aea 30 it was also a bear to cock. It was a power house of a gun so that was a trade off. The gun was to powerful for backyard shooting so I sold it.
Yes Sir the Bin Tac has the reg so Bin sent me a spring and now it's very easy My wife can easily cock it with no stress. The spring came in yesterday changed it out and it is very smooth and easy now to cock. I am in the mountains of Northern Arizona where I shoot nothing but wild game and mountains.

Sonny i also had a aea bullpup sent by accident instead of the long gun, thought i could put up with it but i had to remove from gun rest to cock it and then I'd rip a tendion trying , i had it replaced with normal long gun which is very easy to cock, i think they put different hammer springs in some of these for extra power, it was nasty.

They now have the dreaded high capacity magazine for the Blitz. Send 33 .30cal down range in a second, lol.
