I used an Allen Key. By putting the short end in you can get closer to the edges on the inside. Then just push on the key and work your way around. If I remember right there is three maybe four plastic bumps on the cap that holds it into a groove inside the main body. Do not try to take the metal peace off. It is press fitted into place and you'll end up destroying the hole thing.

I had the same thought of taking the end off and spraying some foam insulation on the inside to make it a true silencer for my Hammerli 850. Wager, which side did you take off? The flat side or the tapered side? Shehayar, what are you going to do with yours?

thinking of making baffles or using hair rollers with some matting.It doesn't reduce the sound.

Foam isn't going to do a thing to make it quiter.Try to fit a larger piece of tubing on it and sealing the ends .

I took the plastic flat tip off made some baffles put the tip back in drill four holes in it from the side and riveted it to hole it otherwise the pressure with blow it out. Then wrapped the hole thing with tape. Works as good as any other ldc iv paid for and cost like $30 in material.
