I'm from another country and I travel a lot to the US ,like to buy air guns there, my five cents / tips: never carry pellets in your backpack or load them in the cabin, try to travel with few cans of pellets, best name for you airgun " bb gun", use TSA padlocks, because otherwise they break the bag to check, if you can open the tank ,better is you bring something to try put inside, I've use a cable or wire.
