Tuning Howler

As I have posted before I have a rifle that I can't get to shoot. I have tried all kinds of pellets not to any positive results. I then saw the vidieo about the Howler pellets. they seem awful heavy for a springer but the gun . I think the gun is stout but I don't know.

The rifle don't shoot but I don't want to mess it up any futher.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

God bless

Bobby

Having re read my post I see I did not make clear my question. The rifle in question seems to be real powerful and my thoughts are could the rifle be overpowering the pellets.

I further wonder if the heavy pellets might settle the barrel down to shoot. A tin of pellets would be a small price if it would make my gun shoot well. I have a collection of pellets that don't shoot. I just thought this time I would ask for advice.

Sorry if I was not clear.

God Bless

What pellet rifle, what cal.?OK,Too light of pellets can cause problems....Go heavier and see if that helps.

I have .177 that I wish were .22 because I feel they overpower the rifle,I use heavier pellets in them to calmthem down

Fact, I tune many of my springer for lee power, that way they are easier to shoot for me.

Some pellet rifle do not mind being powerful and have no problems doing so..RWS48-52 are some...

A cheap powerful springer is a can of worms.....try to add weight to it,,,

Bottom line is to try heavier pellets,,,,,good luck and don't give up.

Jungleshooter.

The gun is a Benjamen Rushmore, gas piston. 22 cal. I have shot 14.3 to 18.13gr.pellets.

The gun looks like new but I got it from a pawn shop. I have cleaned the barrel over and over and I have tried all kinds of way to hold it. I have other springers and have no problem to get them to shoot good.

My shooting is done at 25 yards.

Pellet brands are JSB,H&N,Air Arms, and crossman ,oh Some Pretty Good brand pellets.

Group size........Well I an not able to answer this. At 25yards I might be able to hit a barn door fairly regular. All jokes aside I am having a good day when I can put 5 shots in three inches .

Thanks for you reply

Bobby, 😊

that sounds like a pretty frustrating experience —

using the best pellets money can buy,

in very appropriate weights (14-18gr),

using different holds and knowing how to shoot springers from your other guns,

at only 25y range,

yet all you can hit is a barn door (or something way too large to be considered a bull's-eye). 😟

Bobby, either

▪the scope is messed up (try to shoot it with open sights),

▪the stock screws are loose,

▪or the gun is either broken internally (and for advice on springers I recommend www.GatewayToAirguns.org).

I'm sorry I don't have any better advice! 😟

God bless you,

Matthias
