HPA tank suggestions??

I've been trying to decide on a PCP rifle for a few weeks now. After watching Steve's review, I think I've finally decided on the FX Streamline in .22 cal. I owned a Marauder about 4 years ago but I sold it along with the Benjamin hand pump. I loved the idea of a PCP but not the pump. 

My parameters for my rifle were: 1. Out of the box Accurate above all else 2. High shot count 3. Regulated 4. Power adjustable 5. Repeater... that's how I settled on the Streamline. It may be my only rifle for quite some time so I need to make it count. I need an all around rifle. I will mostly be punching paper and plinking in the back yard without alarming the neighbors.

This will be my only PCP (for now) and I'll need a tank. I'll more thank likely be taking it to a paintball shop to get it filled. What are my options? I know pyramid air has the Air Venturi carbon fiber tanks and AoA has the Omega tanks. Also saw Joe Brancato tanks. Not necessarily trying to go the cheapest way but money is a factor. The main thing for me is having a reliable system and getting lots of fills. The paintball shop is about 45 min away from my house. 


So my question is what kind of tanks are y'all using ?

A 4500 PSI SCBA tank is the way to go. Not cheap but you can find good deals on them. I get 50ish fills on my Condor with a 60 min (88cuft) SCBA tank.

I bought some stuff from Joe B and all I can say is he will never get another dollar of mine. 

Tons of guns to choose from that are accurate right out of the box. IMO, it all depends on the style of gun you like. I like more of a utilitarian type of gun, some others like fancy wood stocks.

I get mine filled at the paintball shop. Just have to make sure you have the correct adapter. mine is setup up from the tank as - Hand tight SCBA adapter to 1/4" NTP adapter, Male Foster, female foster, bleed block with gauge, female foster, male foster, micro bore hose, female foster.

this way, if the paintball place don't have a scba adapter, then you just disconnect the first female foster and they can surely fill it with a foster fitting. i can also disconnect my microbore and use it as an extension when needed.

I finally broke down and bought me a 4500 psi compressor. Got the Omega Air Charger. Only have used it twice, last time took my 66 cu ft carbon fiber tank right up to 4500 psi - piece of cake.

I don't have anywhere around here that will air up a 66 cu ft tank and a hand pump is out of the question.

I have three PCP air rifles that I keep aired up with the Air Charger / tank combo.

I bought my tank from Joe Brancato and when its life span expires, I go to him to buy another. The man flat out knows the ins an outs of air tanks and the various things you need to go with them.

Before I bought the Omage, I had a Shoebox 4500 psi compressor and it served me well, but the Omega is a dream and much, much faster..

"shambozzie"Save your self lots of grief. You can pick up a used Shoe box compressor for around $500. Next step is contact Joe B for a used tank complete with fill whip. They usually have 5 years left with 2 gauges and high quality stuff and go for $500/600 bucks. For around $1000 bucks you are good to go.

Totally agree, Joe Brancato can sure make things easier. He set me up when I didn't have a clue.

I have an omega 4500psi 100cu ft tank for my new wildcat 22. I have shot 1100 rounds so far on one tank (have not counted number of fills on gun) and I am still getting fills up to 205bar. I imagine in a few hundred rounds it will not fill the gun to high enough pressure and it will be fine to get the tank filled again. Expensive tank but well worth it in my opinion.

I suggest a 60 min SCBA in good condition and with plenty of life left from Ebay. For a fill station/whip, airtanksforsale dot com. The web site is absolutely horrid for navigation and determining what the price of many items are, but you'll end up calling them anyway. Building your own is only slightly cheaper, but you'll spend a significant amount of time researching the fittings needed.

I have x1 30 minute SCBA, and x2 60 minute SCBA's. The 30 minute is good for travel.
