Huben bullet swagging kit

"Diaz"Hello
To try to reduce costs, I asked Huben for the price of the mold and not the guillotine.
This is your answer:Dear Diaz The development is not easy as you expect (K1 took 8 years from design to product), we checked with several factories, this pellet is not easy to produce. JSB have a bit suitable pellet for K1, but they still reverted that they cannot produce in our design. If we can produce the pellet in bulk, there is no reason to hold it. Pellet mold is just the choice we have to choose. If not Mold Kit, just the mold, the retails price USD249, not including shipping charge, pls kindly note!
And this is my answer.
Hello Jacky, This is frustrating ..... Complete kit $ 319 single mold 249$ so little difference? In the Forums of arms all the people are very angry of how it is possible that this is so expensive? You buy a weapon 1790$ there are no bullets in stock, it does not work with normal pellest and now 319$ in a kit, Sorry to tell you but this is crazy.
You have a weapon that has problems, and you have to make life easier for your customers. It can not be worth only the 249$ mold .... people ask if it is made of gold? Then we will have the same problem with the bullets that you are making ..... they will cost a fortune and we will not be able to buy either.I do not think this is fair, there are many people who have bet for you and with these prices you do not help your business.I hope you change politics.... :(B, regards
Huben answer :
Thanks for your kind work! We are very sorry that the development of pellet is not same time with airgun, pls kindly wait bulk pellet or use other pellets which other customers suggest, we will try our best to push the progress of pellet, thanks!
The cost is there, I don't know how to explain to you, just like I cannot explain why our K1 is much more expensive than other airguns which is from China. The sorry thing is we didn't development the pellet in the same time of airgun, but it really take time, as I explained our K1 took 8 years, pellet need time, too. Pls kindly understand! Thanks!

In other words, don't buy the K1 for another couple of years or not at all.

Hello all,
I am not new to Huben K1, I have this gun for several months now. When I first got the gun I have some issues like minor air leaks and some accuracy. With the help of Gregor and Huben all my issues when away. My K1 shoots well with the JSB’s Redesigned up to 100 yards around 970 fps. I am also been searching for the “Magic Bullets” that can shoot beyond 100 plus yards and met with disappointments. Until now I am still waiting for Huben’s bullets to be available for their customers. Gregor also said on his YouTube video that he will release video on Huben Swaging Kit in 2018, and base on his review and hopefully with good results, I might have to invest in one. I have several high-end air rifles and I have to say that I enjoyed shooting K1 more than others.

"Gregor"Hi.
Does any of you know where I could buy 5 mm or 5,5 mm lead wire? I would like to show that as well in the video but I cannot find it available anywhere in Europe. I am willing to order form somewhere else as well but only if the shipping price is reasonable...
Thanks.

Don't know how much they will charge for shipping but looks reasonably priced etc.

Gregor
i know this would probably be to expensive to have shipped to you but there's a company called RotoMetals in San Leandro, California who has 25 pound rolls of lead wire 5.56mm that equates to 135 feet long, that'd make a lot of cores for swaging, I use this wire it's 99.9 pure lead to make cores for my bullet swaging. The cost of a roll is $101.08usd plus shipping.

Hi.

Thank you all for your inputs. I hare received an answer form Corbin, the shipping is 71.50 usd + 50 usd for the wire (as in the online pricelist). The dimensions might be a problem, 0,218 is on the "too thick" side since this is about diameter of the bore riding part of the end pellet and the 0,185 might be a little too thin and I am not sure if the pellet will form correctly. I think I will stick to using a dedicated mold form making slugs that I will then swagge...

Shoganai: you can use MP molds to then swagge the slugs, but you should usd not more than 1:20 linotype to lead ration (I suggest to use even less linotype than that) and you will need to roll the MP mold bullets in order to make them slightly smaller diameter after casting in order for them to fit in the swagging die...

Hi.

I do not have a lot of update yet as we have a lot of snow this year and I have not done a lot of long range shooting yet. They seem to be slightly less accurate that Huben pellets I had but I cannot make a direct compartment as I do not have any Huben pellets anymore.
I will say something though: The bullets out of the swagging kit are extremely consistent in terms on dimensions and weight and another very nice feature about this swagging die is that you can also make longer or shorter bullets. I made them form 30 up to 52 grain and I tested the 44 and 52 grain bullets with Wolverine I modified.. It is shooting 52 grains with 965 fps (that is about 108 ft-lbs) :) I tested them for accuracy and the 44 grain @ 1010 fps seem to be shooting sub MoA at 120 meters... 52 grans are not stable... would need a faster twist.

I am hoping that in a next month, the weather will get better and I will be able to properly test them.

Hi Gregor,
Do you have any news to comment about the swagging kit and the resulting bullets ?
Probably you're at IWA right now and if you went there, did you visit the Huben stand ? is there any news about what´s coming this year with the brand and rifles or the new models that showed in IWA 2017, let us know please.
Some Huben owners that bought the Kit are not getting the desire results in there rifles, do you have any news about other experience with it ?
Thanks Gregor, best regards
