Huben Huben gk1 .254 slugs

The best weight is 42 & 44 avs slugs. 253 and or 254. I like the 254’s. These are the most accurate weights. The magazine was designed to grab the skirt of the jsb disbolo’s. This not a flaw it’s a design feature. The gun’s mag and barrel were not designed for slugs. We may like using them but the GK1 was not made to shoot slugs. The problem with using smaller diameter ammo allows the pellets or slugs to shift forward and cause a jam which will cause the gun dumps it full fill in one shot. You then u need to dismantle to unjam. Seating the ammo assures you that this does not happen.

Yes exactly you are correct. Tbh I’m not really worried about accuracy with slugs. That’s why I go for the heaviest slug for the most stopping power. When I am plinking I will most likely just stick to Jsb king heavies with one full turn on the hammer spring.

Have you gotten the 253s yet? I like the idea of 254 but using a pen to seat them makes me think they don’t fit…. Like “fitting” into a size 9 shoe when you’re an 11
Hey just wanted to come back on here to give you an update. The 253 dish slugs from AVS seem to be a perfect fit. No seating required even but I still do. I think the hollow base slugs from them may be too long though haven’t tried them. The dish based one’s fit perfectly length wise as well they seem to be just as long as the mag chambers. I got the 48 grain. I haven’t shot them yet though so I’ll have to get back to you guys about that. With the Jsb heavies though this may be the most accurate pistol I have ever shot. More than pb’s too

You’re having a problem due to the lead recipe.
NSA has antimony in it which makes the lead harder. You need to use pure lead slugs which are more malleable. I use AVS slugs. .254 flat base 42 gr. This info was procured from Kelly at Krazykool. You can also use .253 which fit better but .254 shoot better. The other reason I use .254 is that I also have the k1 which uses the .254 so I only need one slug for both.
Keep the n mind that the Gk1 is not designed for slugs it specifically designed for pellets hence the mag design that grabs the pellet skirt when you push it in.
Any questions or issues that you might have with Huben you can text or call Kelly @ Krazykool, he is the Huben Wizard and knows both guns inside out. He is also the warranty repair person for many of the dealers.

Im ordering the same stock fab defense...
But don't know which buffer tube to put in for picattiny rail... Can you help with this?
Is yours foldable?

Cheers

Hopefully the 48gr fit and aren't too long. Not sure how AEA or JTSZ run the skirt sizes on the .25 cal but in .22 cal there is no seating required when shooting the AEA as they are .224 sized

Yes the 48 gr Avs are not too long. Although I think the hollow based ones may be. The dish, cup, and flat seem to all fit. Yes I am def going to try out some of the aea pellets to see how those run!

Too big because they are too long? Unless your barrel is different, it should work. Some gk1s can fit 11mm long slugs, but a safer bet is staying just under 10.9mm from what I've seen and made.

Jams with mine only occurred when my spring and rubber ring got damaged, or when I had the trigger pull too light, or when trying to fire with less than around 12-13 mpa in the gun. Or if the slugs are too long but that should be apperant when loading
I have a problem with my gk1 .25 cal. Dumped air and safety is stuck on fire. The reset underneath the rear sights behind the spring is already depressed and when I try to fill the gun with air, it fires unexpectedly on it on at a very low pressure. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? So far, my new gun is not a good investment. Thanks!

I would ask Steve-I about this. He is very knowledgeable with gk1’s. Or I would send krazy kool airguns an email.

I think this will help and try not to shoot it down bellow the reg pressure, I hope this helps.

Not sure what you refer to with the reset.

My gun has jammed the safety like you say a number of times, (usually when the old stlye spring inside had bent on me, or, as others mentioned, when i accidentally fired the gun with insufficient pressure), and dumped it's air. ( after upgrading my spring to the new kind and modifying the fat rubber ring around it with a beveled inside edge, I havent had any more spring issues yet)

For me it was always a slug stuck in between the magazine and barrel. If your magazine won't rotate, that could be your problem. If, and only if, all the air is out, try using a carbon fiber rod or wooden dowel or some other suitable tool to push the projectile back into the magazine from the barrel end, and make sure your magazine will rotate, then the safety should work again.

Have you ensured that your trigger's 2nd stage break weight is not set too low? I think if it is, this could cause the gun to fire on its own while filling with air

Thanks. I appreciate big time. But, how do you adjust the 2nd stage break weight. And as for the spring, I just received my gun in late December so I may have the updated version. It is metal with a plastic plug like thing in the outer end. Had nothing but trouble with my gun since receiving it. Tried all sorts slugs. .250, .251, .254 ZAN and have .254 but they are to big diameter wise. I have yet to empty a magazine without a problem. Love the gun when it works right.

Yeah that's the newer spring setup, previously that plug was missing and the spring was not as robust.

I tried the maneuver with the allen wrench in the video but it would not move forward or snap back in place.

I'm not sure then, or sure what isn't snaping back into place
I removed the receiver back cover plate, removed the spring and inserted an Allen wrench and pushed. The time before I felt something Snap into place and the safety began to work. This last time the striker wouldn't move. Then when I tried to put air in the gun twice, it goes to about 2/3 hundred psi and fires on its on. Also can't increase the pressure more than 2/3 hundred psi as you can hear it leaking out. I am quite new with this type gun and don't have a clue what to do.
