Huben Huben K1 - Highly Under Rated Gun?

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to post up about what I feel is probably one of the Best Overall guns on the market.

Yes, it gets some love but IMO not enough.

With the seemingly "hot" craze of the small, mini carbine, or so-called short guns I would throw this in the mix and never look back.. some might say it's pricey but from what I have seen by the time you get through "trying" to make a cheap gun into a 1/2 decent mini you are a$$ deep before you know it ....

Before I get too deep, I want to give a little context, I currently own 13 PCP guns, down from 25 at the peak of my insanity...
I have, or have had the usual suspects in the high-end varieties as well as a couple of lower end guns so I think I have a fairly good insight..

Ok on to the subject at hand, The K1 pretty much checks every box if you really look at it. and has the bonus of the semi auto function.

1) Extremely well built, You Very rarely see many issues with them, hell the only thing I have ever had to do to mine was replace the tiny oring behind the gauge
2) Very accurate with both pellets and slugs
3) Power, good lord you can get a .22 shooting ludicrous numbers with just a quick turn of a dial
4) Overall Length - 32"... enough said
5) Outstanding Trigger - mine is 1.6 lbs average
6) Quiet- No need for a moderator
7) Great Shot count
8) Very Comfortable to Shoulder, I am a big dude, 6.3' and 260 with huge, machinist hands, my wife is smallish 5.6' at 125, the gun works very well for both of us
9) Great Customer Support and parts, if you ever would need any, from a US Dealer (kelly@Krazcool)

Those are just the "key" points.
Mine is a 2022 version and I have 1000's of rounds through it. I have NEVER had a shot cycle malfunction,.
The gun is always ready to just "grab and Go" and do what it is supposed to do.

If you are thinking about buying one do yourself a favor and do it, you will Not be sorry

Happy to hear that. You are enamored with yours! Both of the prior k ones I had were amazing, i had a gripe with the twenty five calversion, only because the best slugs for it or nielsen .254 and they were really tight and hard to feed. But I would get clover leaf size groups at a hundred and forty yards consistently! My prior k1 22 loves VK 223 28.5gr slugs

I totally agree with you. I have been saying this since 2018 when I purchased my 1st one from Kelly. I have been in the air gun world for 20+ years and have owned about every air gun. I have owned several Hubens & sold several Hubens to hunting partners.

The Huben hands down fits my needs as a hunter. The Huben is so easy to adjust to your hunting needs. If I want to shoot a Crossman 14.3gr @ 340fps for indoor pesting or just plinking in my basement turn the external reg. down to 110bar & dial power wheel to 1 to 2 clicks open & sight in my scope. If I want to go squirrel hunting with a Nelson 27.5gr slug @ 960fps just turn the reg. to 150bar & dial power wheel to 21-25 clicks open & sight. If I want to go crow hunting with a JSB 25.39gr Redesign @ 960fps keep the reg. set 150bar dial the power wheel closed a couple of clicks & sight in scope. It's so easy to setup however you want.

I totally agree with everything you have stated. Huben is a Great hunting rifle. I have several posts on them.

Yeah this is my 3rd K1.

I bought a .25 cal back 2019, sold it to one of the guys in my shooting group after he pestered the $hit out of me for months...
Turned around and bought a 2021 Limited Edition in .22 cal, beautiful gun, it is now my wife's...
Since she wouldn't let me shoot hers, I went ahead and bought the 2022 in .22 cal for myself

Of ALL the guns I own, and have owned this one is the "go to" 1 size fits all as a pesting, hunting, target shooting , and just plain fun gun,,,

There are 4 of us that have them in our small group of guys that get together, man you wanna talk about fun, Line up some KYL targets and a couple of dueling trees and have a shoot off!!!

I never felt they were underrated, just that they didn't cause problems so often that you just don't HEAR about them often. Always wanted to try one. The hunting videos I've watched have impressed me with their accuracy & always SOUNDS like they hit like a brick. Loud SCHWACK! Nice compact package too. Underrated, no. Don't hear much, yes. But that's not a bad thing.

What do you mean, you can't remove the mag?
The mag is "built-in" to the stock. Not removable. Have to rotate & load ammo one at a time, like the old LCS‐SK19 semi auto/auto. Wish they DID have a regular magazine system. That's one feature I never cared for.

I like the mag being fixed. Can't loose them, they don't collect lint in your pocket.

Having 19 shots is like 2 10 shot magazines ready to go.

As far as safety goes, I learned this in 4-h shooting sports. A safety is a device that can and will fail. Treat a firearm as it is loaded, with Respect.

i had one in .25 and it was a powerhouse, but it had a few quirks with ammo, even the
oversized recommended slugs. i got it to shooting nice with the help of jacespace, gregor and kelly.
sold it and bought another in .22 and shoot the peanut slugs with awesome accuracy, power and reliability. i only fill to 4k psi and i top-off after each mag which means 19 dead critters !! :sneaky:

It’s cool, maybe the next iteration of the gun would be more widely accepted. Not sure I’d want to go down this road yet, but possibly the K2 will iron out some of the wrinkles.

So, I don't like this outdated video. One thing that comes to mind is these are adult air rifles, not children. 2018-2020 Hubens had LW barrels and were designed to shoot pellets, so I don't know why he can't shoot pellets. 2021-present Huben uses their own non choked barrel sys. which works great for pellets & slugs. He is comparing the trigger to a bolt rifle Really; that's like comparing apples to oranges. It's a semi auto, But I will say for a semi auto it has one of the best triggers on the market.

Personally, this person was not the right person for this review.

Matt Dubber is qualified to review airguns. He is pointing out everything he noticed, including the fact that you can’t decock the gun. That was the main reason for voicing safety concerns. Was one of the first reviews that popped up on YouTube, which is why I watched it and linked it not everybody is going to support every gun.

It sounds like it’s a powerhouse and when it’s working right sounds like it’s awesome. Being that it’s hammerless and different than 99% of the other air guns on the market makes it kind of hard to work on It sounds like.

It seems like an awesome powerful accurate rifle, but it’s definitely not for everybody

And out of curiosity, what is outdated about this video what has changed since the video has been released? Is the Mk 2 not the most recent version of this?

Dubber is a qualified "paid" tuber... but in this video he openly admits he knows nothing about the hammerless system and to me was basically phoning in another review...
(I fully expect to be flamed by the Dubber lovers, so have at it) I am a big boy..

Yes, this is an old video, 7 years old to be exact.. the gun has basically stayed the same as far as function.. but as mentioned above there has been barrel change from 2021 to current.

Guys I am NOT saying this is the best gun on the planet, and yes, it is Not for everyone...

As for the safety issue it's no different than any other gun, It has a GREAT BIG Lever on the side called a Safety, the gun will Not fire when engaged.
I don't know about everyone else's safety protocol and how their dad's taught them to treat a firearm, I know mine beat it into me, treat it as it's always loaded, ready to fire, safety on until you are ready to fire, and finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire....
