Huben K1 Meets Snake

i have some chicks in the yard and a pup in training as a guardian. This fella showed up and I had to get rid of it. 3 shots from about 15 yards. Third shot hit the head. I think I have 18.1 grain pellets loaded. Either that or 24 grains. I forget. It’s what was loaded and ready to rock. The chicks were about 15-20 yards away.

This is the first snake he’s encountered that I can recall.

A comparison photo for scale.

Ah gotcha, i rather they kill rats. Lol, i was thinking it wasa rat snake but wasnt sure why you killed it.
@Scotay42 I would too and I usually don’t mind them around the house. But one of this size, I’ve seen what they can do in a coop. I’ve had one go at a good sized pullet. The fact that the names “rat snake” and “chicken snake“ are interchangeable out here, IMO it’s best to get rid of them around poultry. They don’t discriminate much when it comes to meal time. Generally I’d try to relocate them far from home, but this wasn‘t one of those times.

@markhooper The K1 has served me well. It is a keeper. It’s a .22.
do you also have a GK1? I'm really wanting a GK1 in 22 caliber and I'm thinking about selling several other guns and getting either the K1 or Western sidewinder in 22 as well.. I'm not really into bull pups but I have never handled one either.. but seems like there's a advantage of having a common platform..
