Huben K1 vs. Feral Hog

I wanted to see if my Huben K1 was sufficient enough for dispatching feral hogs at a "decent" distance on my property and finally had an opportunity to put it to the test last night! This is a custom unit from Kelly at Kraz Cool Airguns with a longer LW polygon barrel so it's putting out quite a bit more energy than the stock .25 version. Anyway, I know how much I searched for people using the K1 for hunting medium sized game and couldn't find much, so I thought I would post for anyone interested. It's a laser beam and I felt confident in landing a headshot from 75 yards away.

Note: A 25 cal pcp airgun is actually illegal in Texas to use for hunting on public land, so understand this is on my own private property. I would NOT use the Huben outside of this, even if it is capable of dispatching the animal. I also would not recommend using this small of a caliber without knowing your shot placement as you may not be able to achieve an ethical kill. I HATE feral hogs, but I still prefer not to let them suffer unnecessarily.

What ammo met that meathead?
These were NSA 38grain slugs. I have some 48-50 grain slugs that I would prefer to use for the extra fpe, but I would need to retune it first.

Nice shot!!
Thanks!

Man how long did he kick around like that ?
Right when the video is fading you can see him start to settle. He stopped flopping around right then, but he did still kick his legs for good bit - Definitely a flopper.

That was definitely a spine hit rather then a brain hit.
Yep, you're right. After examining the carcass it looks like POI was actually a bit further back from the ear than I thought. The slug clipped the very back of the skull and primarily impacted the spinal column.

Yeah you can tell by the reaction of the pig compared when you get him with a brain shot.
