Huben Huben newbie questions

Hey, so I ended up coming home from the Indiana airgun show with a new huben k1 .25. I’ve tried it out and realized this thing is a whole different animal. It’s nothing like anything I’ve shot before.
So I have some questions I’m hoping some huben owner can answer for me.
1. I hear these shoot slugs with lots of power and accuracy. Is this true? I hope as that’s my main reason for owning one.
2. What weight/brand slug have you found shoots well in it.
3. I heard somewhere to set the reg at 18 to 20 hpa for slugs. This correct?
4. Does the power adjuster need to be balanced or tuned to the reg pressure? Will it waste air if the power adjuster is too high for the reg pressure?
5. What FPE can be achieved in the 25 cal version without maxing it out and getting a low shot count?
6. I know about potential for jamming the magazine and the inconvenience cleaning the bore. Also the safety concerns. What else do I need to know? I’ve already ordered the ares loading gate.

The way the valve works on this gun it will shoot just enough air. I've never shot this rifle and had it waste air. At least I've never experienced that tuning from 15.89gr at 920 to 32.8gr at 1000fps in .22 and 25.39gr at 850fps to 47gr at 970fps in .25.

You'll have to skug the barrel to see what size slugs you will need to use but most .25 cal K1 barrels need .254 size slugs

What reg setting?

Thank you! Does it prefer .254 diameter? Will it shoot .250 well?
sorry for the rapid fire questions!
No worries, the only .250 the Huben states will work are the Mk2 JSB KO and that's because they have a small skirt at the base. There is a huben k1 master thread and a few other with LOADS of info

I've got a K1 in .25. I don't shoot mine religiously, but when fair weather is here, I try as much as possible. I have no indoor range. But a LOT of outdoor range.... Here's my 2c worth.
1. they shoot everything with power and mostly accuracy, but like anything else, you have to tune the reg and power wheel for what you're shooting.
2. I shoot Altaros smooth 50gr at @890 fps. Very accurate. Also ZAN 38gr slugs about teh same speed. And the JSB MKII pellets and sometimes Hades are good shooters
3. My reg is set 17.5/18 mpa and my power wheel is 37-40 clicks. Kelly at KrazCool advised me to try not to go over 40 clicks or the valve may hang open. BUT....I've never had that problem.
4. I try to keep my reg at only the minimum pressure needed and adjust the power wheel.
5. I don't worry about FPE. I just wanna hit and kill what I'm shooting at. I've killed coyotes with a .22 springer before.
6. Keep pellets/slugs tight in the magazine; .253/.254 for slugs. Firm fitting pellets. If you have a jam you can usually clear it by firing into a safe area. It's best to remove the barrel for cleaning; also AVS slugs seem to be dirtyier for some reason. I've got an aftermarket loading gate; but not one that pushes them in. PaperMate Ink Joy gel pens have a tip that's really handy for pushing lead into the mag. And you can use em to write on your target to post pics on AGN!

Happy shootin' brother

also remember to RELIGIOUSLY put the magazine lock lever down on the left side after loading the magazine. I can't count how many times I've forgot to do that. It's hard to remember (for me) to go back to the left side after spending the most time on the right loading the magazine. (BECAUSE I WANNA GO SHOOTING!) Usually it won't be a problem, but once in a while it causes me issues I have to ask for help about.

The only thing I will add to this is to NEVER remove the barrel. You can undo the gun 85% of the way without removing the barrel, on doing so you will misaligned the barrel and you will have to send it off to a professional to get it realigned. It's gonna cost you atlast $100 and atleast a weeks time without it. There are two videos out the Gregor on YouTube made that are disassembly videos, take your time watching them to ensure you have the correct model before starting to take the gun apart.
