Huben Huben pistol ammo choice.

GTO Predator .25 16.54 grain 920 fps 40 yards. 12-shot group. I had one of my stocks on it & from the bench. The stock was only connected behind the receiver. If it was connected to the bottom of the grip, too, I think the height of the group would been less. At 1050, groups were bad; at 980, they were not really good; at 960, they were getting better. At 920, good enough for anything I intend to do. Got to order some more fresh out. There are no jams at all today using the factory gate.

Nice, how many shot do you get at that power level ?

Basically recoil but because your grip prevents backward motion, the recoil is expressed as the muzzle moving upwards (rotation around the center of mass, which is below the bore). Heavier projectiles cause more recoil force and take more time to leave the barrel, both of which enhance the upward POI shift.
That makes perfect sense. I experienced something similar with my Extreme .457. It has a 4,500 psi tank and with helium shooting a 250 grain hollow point. unregulated, my first shot was 1365 fps if memory serves, it been a few years since I last used it. With the second shot it dropped to about 800 fps but at 100 yards the poi was about 3 inches higher. So since the projectile is the same weight, but slower, logic would dictate the recoil had more time to raise the barrel before exit, hence the higher poi. I always wondered why, this is a logical answer to the puzzle.

Buenas tardes.
Saludos.

I have found the 21.9gr AEA pellets to shoot the best out of my .22 GK1 at around 895fps from a 350b fill to 110b I'm getting almost 2 mags. They shoot better than the 18.13gr fx, 15.9gr fx, the polymags, crosmans, H&n 15gr, 14.6gr, 18gr. I did order the new Huben slugs. So I will try those out soon

Buenas tardes.

I have one of the MP molds round nose/boat tail airgun slug molds in 25 caliber and a .25 gk1 on the way. I know that this mold was specifically made to work with the GK one magazine and barrel (before they switched to a lower twist rate pellet barrel in 2020/2021). Has anyone tried shooting these out of the pistol? I will be doing so myself eventually.

(I’d like to shoot these slugs because of the ease of casting compared to diabolo pellets - my 8 cavity mold really makes it easy to cranks these out).
can you please report on the use of these slugs with the GK1? i was considering that mold, but wonder if the slogs are not sitting snug in the mag and move around to cause jams.

I have found bob's boat tails have the perfect degree of snugness. I have been casting 41 grain slugs but with a hollow point pin so maybe 39 grains. Next lot i cast will be solid point I think. The 50 grain bbt slugs fit perfectly also - snug and the exact length of the mag. I am not a marksman, and that i generally shoot freestanding offhand so I can't comment on group sizes

I got the molds from NOE

thank you for the response,
do you have a link to the mould from NOE, i can't make sense of their offerings, unfortunately.
found this: https://noebulletmolds.com/site/sho...2-fn-bb4/253-52-fn-bb4-2-cavity-rg2-bt-brass/
but not sure if that would be it.

I am casting these:

I have been casting at a low temperature so the slugs will be a little oversized and more snug. I think if you cast with this mold at higher temps, they may be a little loose. There is. .253 cal version of the mold, but it has been out of stock for a long time - would have bought that if i could have.

thank you, i made another thread for experiences with suitable mould for the GK1 over here:

looks like the .253 is available now, if i am not mistaken. maybe they are too long for the mag?

Not in the 42 grain version - all show out of stock.
