My gun jammed today, I knew when loading it the 22 Hades were very loose I made sure I seated with a pen, I was able to unjam gun by holding up side down and taping on it and rotating the magazine, My Huben rifle likes the 22 caliber 18.1 gr JTS pellets may just give them a try, Another over size 22 caliber pellets out there in pellet land?
You guys shooting with Nitrogen count yourself lucky, I tried Nitrogen 10 to 15 years ago out in the oil patch and it was crazy money 250 to 300 a month, Are the GTO pellets a little on the big size in 22 caliber??? May have to give them a try.

I have not had any jams with the hades, but they are not really tight. I can see where they could move in, the cylinder. I did shoot some JTS 21 grains & they fit snugly, more so than the 18 JTS.

Back to the GTO is 11 grain the heaviest you can get in .22?
The 11.75 grain is the only GTO in 22. There are other lead free 22 options that are a little heavier, but I haven’t tried them. This is why I also tested the 22g .223 AVS slugs. That will be the higher power, jam-resistant option for me.

To Mikes question, it’s not that GTOs are oversized, it’s that the skirts are rigid. Pellets are held in the magazine only by the rifling at the skirt, which is just never going to hold tight with soft lead.

I have to send my 2018 huben k1 to Kelly for repairs. In the box I included some of the slugs I make for both my .22 and my .25, I've asked Kelly to test them in the pistols and see how they do. My .22s are .2225 diameter, and I can size them down to .2215 as well although it seems like .2225 is better. They weigh a bit over 40 grains. The .25s are .254 diameter and are very similar to AVS slugs, they weigh about 48 grains. I'll share what Kelly says about if they work well. Typically I make them to fill the mag slots perfectly, but could make them shorter and lighter. Never had a jam like pellets can cause.

I might be selling my .22 to go towards a .25 gk1, and also sell my .2225 swage die. Have to think about it some but I definitely like my .25 k1 more than the .22

I received my GK-1 in .25 today! I have filled it to 350 BAR and am letting it sit over night to leak check it. It came with the 1/2UNF Adapter installed. I has a spare thread protector and put it on it for storage in the case.

Here are some pictures:

This is what came in the case, which was well protected in the box from Kelly at KrazCool Airguns.

The grip is a very nidely grain hardwood. I believe it's walnut.

Here it is without the moderator...

Here it is compared to my Ataman AP-16. This is the short barrel version. They are pretty close to the same size.

It Broke!

Looks like my fun is curtailed for awhile. The lever that releases the cylinder so that it can be loaded broke off. It broke after the gun was loaded and I was returning it to the firing position. Anyone know where to get this part quickly? It is part 49 on exploded view of K1. Got about 200 rounds through it before it broke. It never jammed.

Thanks,

Jim K.

Jim was that the OEM lever ? I bet you could order one of the improved loading gates and have it at your door in a couple days
Also to the rest of you guys,My pistol the same as my rifle loves the 22 caliber 18.1 Gr. JTS pellets, Have not tried the GTO pellets yet, Pricey little things,
Got my pistol turned down to 500 FPS and its pretty much back yard friendly now, Little bark but not to much.. My eyes are not good enough for long range shooting , but the cans do not stand a chance at 10 to 20 yards,, A very very fun pistol, Just like the rifle.

Ares has the lever & housing together. I ordered one from them and got it in two days. It is the same one as the rifle. A weak point IMO. I also ordered 3 of the levers from NE & got them in 4 days. I am sure Kelly has them too. If you let that lever, get away from you during closing, it will break. I did the same thing. The lever is harder to open and close the more fill pressure it has. & during closing once, it cams over it wants to slip from my fat fingers.

Kelly has a bunch, I've had to replace the one on my rifle and pistol.

In the four years I’ve owned a huben that lever has never broke. Although, I have heard of this happening to others. Seems like a lack of metal quality or design flaw. It would be nice if they made it out of Titanium like the air tank.

When I got my .25 I was talking to Kelly and he recommended to me to lower that lever slowly and carefully as a few had already been broken by letting them snap down.

I've had my .25 almost 2 weeks now and been really loving it. Mine seems to like the 25gr JSB pretty well, but I'm only shooting lower power offhand indoor until I get the mod adapter. It's a very nice off hand shooter. Been using a red dot and open sights - both get the job done.

Anybody buy a 177 pistol? shooting good you like it ? I really wanted a 177 but with my fingers and my eyes I have a hard time fumbling with the little pellets , When the 177 Huben rifle came up for sale a few days ago I had to hide the key board / Credit card and Pay Pal Pass words ,,, Just wondering how you 177 guys are dealing with the Pistol????

I didn't even know that they were gonna make this in 177.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but just an FYI on that magazine lever replacement. Kelly (KrazCool) has a YouTube video on how to replace. The lever on my K1 broke, and he pointed me to that video.

I'm not sure if I can link to YouTube, but just search for "Huben K1 Mag Lever Assembly Replace" and you'll find his video.

Edit: I've linked Kelly's YouTube video:

Yep, but on these GK1 pistols you will need to degas. Wimpanzee informed me of that step, or I might have broken the new assembly on install.

No - pull that CC back out and buy my 177 Huben....... LOL!!

Just keep in mind that 177 is a completely custom build from a 22. I haven't heard anything about a 177 pistol.
