Other Huben Power Cricket-MAX-ATH Regulator

I put one on an .22 Airforce Talon with a 19" barrel. It wasn't the FPS for me it was dropping the regulated pressure to 1800psi and throwing JTS 25.39gr pellets at 850FPS +/- 5.

I did test it at 2800psi and was getting 1100FPS.

Calculate your barrel volume and multiply by 3 or 4. The Dream has a 25CC plenum and the Max has a 50cc plenum. If your Gauntlet is a .30 the 50CC plenum may not be large enough to add much FPS

When you say barrel volume do you mean the length?

pi * radius squared * length

for a .22 with a 19" barrel
3.14 * (0.11 * 0.11) * 19 = 0.72 or 12cc
so a plenum of 36cc would be good, the 50cc MAX would be optimal.
25cc would not hurt but it would lose pressure before the pellet left the barrel
since you were looking for FPS increase then you want the pellet accellerating the full length of the barrel to maximize FPS

or you could get crazy and build a ~300cc plenum with a 1.1L bottle
although the parts needed for that are on AliExpress and in China so you would get the pleasure of paying an extra 125% tariff come 5-02-25

OK so what about a .300 with a 28.25 in barrel? I got 1.9958625.

You should given the Gauntlet stock regulator does not have a plenum. All things being equal an increase should be noticed if you set the MAX-ATH to the same as the stock regulator. You should be able to attain the same FPS as the stock regulator at a reduced pressure. Which will give you more shots per fill.

I saw somewhere there is a calculation of what to expect based upon pellet and plenum size. But a quick seach came up empty.

Oh OK thank you man that's valuable information 👍

I've already done some little mods to the gun already.

I'd be modding my g30 today for a 250cc+ plenum but the delivery company lost the U valve (bag ripped) so I only have the tube and regulator.

Only problem is the plenum setup adds even more weight to a heavy gun. But the 250cc tube means a lighter CF bottle can be used to get the same 700cc volume i have now. Still will be heavier but I usually shoot the g30 from a tripod. I have lighter rifles for pests. Reximex Throne 2 .25 or Niksan Ozark S .22, Airforce Condor .25 and Talon .22 and .25.

Wait what's the U valve?

Wait what's the U valve?

Allows you to reverse the bottle.
That is my .25 Condor with a fat 1.1L bottle and a 20CM plenum. 28mm internal diameter. Comes out to 125cc plus the U valve.

There are also regulated U valves. I use a separate Cricket regulator that screws directly into the tube.

Problem is, price for the tube parts on AliExpress goes up 125% next week due to tariffs. Same with the Huben Power regulators, they ship from Hong Kong.

Yea I have the huben cricket. I would love to put that on my gauntlet with the 700cc tank.
