There's no need to fill to 5000 psi - the main reason to do that would be to increase your shot count a bit. Unless you need those extra shots, it's probably easier on the system to run it a bit below its maximum anyway.

I would assume that topping off increases the highest power you can get but I haven't tested that.
 
Is that right I did 3 full rotations from 0 and im getting 848 fps with a 48 gr slug from 5k psi fill.. I still have another half rotation exactly before I feel the screw stop grabbing and free spinning...I would of thought I would of been faster or maybe pellets have more power?

That’s about the limit on the .25 GK1 when using compressed air. If you didn’t know, 76 ft. lbs. for a .25 compact air pistol was unheard of in the airgun world until the gk1 came along. Just a few years ago the highest power .25 pistol looked like something captain Jack sparrow would carry and it maxed out around 30 ft lbs for a few shots.
