This guy ruined my night hunt, was waiting for the rat to come over the fence and the possum scared him off. Possums don't get shot in my yard, they eat the dead rats.

Possums never get shot, Tick eating machines.. I make surebthey are well fed.. keep coons and skunks away too

I too give them a pass even when they keep the rats away from my bait station although I do chase them off with a broom stick!

Problem is the neighbors workshop with windows behind the rat, neighbors threatened to call the police after finding a bird I shot in her yard. I have to be certain the critters fall on my side of the fence!

I see a lot of opossums at night when I backyard hunt raccoons. I like the little ugly things but they always want to eat the bait which is sardines, and marshmallow. Once I am done for the night, they can have it. But not while I am sitting and waiting for the coons. I usually hiss at them and they run. But if they start to get comfortable, not afraid of me, and eat up the raccoon bait they get a slug too. I shot 2 last week. One was huge. Like a small raccoon.

I got this big girl visiting every night, I think she's pregnant. I wont shoot her, the rats can be shot later.

My biggest problem with opossums is they like to eat my tomatos. they don’t just eat one, they bite every tomato to check for ripeness so all my tomato have tiny holes in them. I live trap and relocate them. Down side of omnivores in the garden.

I Grow tomatoes, but never had that problem. I kill enough stuff to kept them well fed I guess.
