Huggett Astille Moderator

Elo.....Just received the Huggett Astille moderator for my FX Maverick compact .22 , Fits the shroud almost perfectly , whisper quiet I own a number of moderators but this Is by far the quietest . POI changed slightly a few clicks up and to the right now 1/4" groups at 60 yrds . Not cheap but imo worth the $$$ .

I have a couple of those. I agree - they're excellent. Oddly enough they look a lot less funny in real life than in pictures I think. Most people that see mine simply say how cool they look and how quiet they are.
When I first opened the box I was looking for a couple of AAA batteries :) . But joking aside I agree they do look a lot better In real life .

I too bought an Astille in .22. I currently have it mounted on my S510 Carbine. I just added the tip cone which basically removes all pneumatic sound from the shot and leaves just a mechanical "click" sound. Ultra backyard friendly. While I was at it, I put a Huggett Belita on my Daystate .20 and it too has no pneumatic sound, just a quiet click. It was somewhat loud with the stock Daystate moderator. Both of these rifles are one hole at 28 yds (my current backyard target from the comfort of my back porch.) Deadly on Starlings. I ordered both of these moderators from Penchetta Pen and Knife since they were the best price I could find. Ultra fast shipping.

I've been looking at the Astille on the Penchetta Pen and Knife site. Did you order the plus or just the standard Astille in .22? The plus has the extra extension so I'm not sure if I should get the plus and add the cone tip or the standard size and add the cone tip. Thanks!!

The Hugget advertises their Astille as their most quiet design yet. It is very quiet without the nose cone, but I ordered the cone any way and it is even more quiet. I am going to order another one with the nose cone extension for another .177 Daystate rifle I am buying for backyard pesting use. I recommend the extra 20 bucks for the extension.

Yes, I've been reading and watching some video's on the Astille and quiet is the common theme. Did you get the middle extension piece as well? The nose cone seems to be the setup but not sure if the center section extension is really needed. Thanks!
