For slugs, generally yes. With pellets, it's more complicated.
The pin designs aren't typically as good for loading pellets consistently with rifles that have round / oval barrel transfer ports. If you're using an aftermarket barrel inlet that is milled (with the little "bridge" in the middle), the pellets have no real chances of "dipping" down or loading non-concentric to the bore. Here's one that I machined a few weeks ago:
Seating depth is another important factor. Depending on which barrel you have, they may or may not seat ammo ideally in the chamber throat.

Both my Crowns have the dual transfer port and pin probes by Huma. My velocity generally increased by 25-30 FPS and work flawlessly with either pellets or slugs. This is a good modification.

Does the Huma pin probe lead to concrete advantages even with non-slug ammunition? I would like to buy one, to replace my original FX probe, worked as I learned in Airgunsnation, but in the end I don't know if it's worth it. I would like to have some information from who owns it .... Thanks

Pin probe is not worth the trouble with pellets most of the time. I do have one on order but I mainly shoot slugs only.
