Tuning Huma Huben

Decided to install a Huma reg. in one of my Hubens . Set the Reg. at 105 bar, using JSB 18gr. and wanted to be around low 900fps. Fill the 300cc tube to 310 bar. 1st thing that I noticed was that I had to turn the power wheel way down, I guess due to the larger Huma plenum. It made it more quiet as far as the action and report (which it wasn't loud anyways). It seems to be more accurate as well. *Note- my stock reg. Was set at 120 bar and p. Wheel turn out further to get same results. I think as time goes on it will get better due to breaking in.

I was under the impression the Huma reg (for the Huben) was unable to take anything near 310bar, you show that is not the case.

EDIT, I would love to know how low (power) the K1 can go/function, with that reg setting and the P/wheel turned right down (for inside barn work).

I would say you probly went off the reg about 15 shots sooner when your velocity started climbing. Most airgun gauges are not that accurate so you really can't count on them being close enough to judge when you go off of the reg. You need to watch your velocity for the change. At least that is my guess looking at the velocity changes.

Got me wanting to add the Huma to my Huben.

How was the install? Any things to watch out for or know when installing the Huma reg/plenum?

Those are impressive results. The Huma is definitely worth the $. Often right when a gun falls off the reg, there is an increase in velocity. Then it falls straight down. Glad your getting the same results as I did.

Would it be accurate to say that you lose the external adjustability of the stock reg when you install the Huma?

ctshooter- Yes you loose the external under the stock adjustment. But, once set I do not mess with it. And if you do decide to adjust it, it only takes about 15min. to do that. The Huma reg. is a lot more precise and less deviation between shots. Which means more accurate.

John, that will be exactly what I'm looking for in a Huben. 18 grain at 900 fps is perfect.

I hardly ever fill past 220 bar on my guns so let's see if my math makes sense. 310 bar fill minus 105 bar reg equals 205 bar for roughly 117 shots.

That's roughly 1.75 bar per shot. So 220 bar minus 105 bar equals 115 bar at 1.75 bar per shot gives about 65 shots?

I would be ecstatic to get to get 3 magazines worth from a 220 bar fill!
