I posted awhile back has anyone used this and any problems?
Well l have some experience with it now and my advice is don't buy this or use it!
This adapter allows to fill your FX bottles off of the gun, a super great idea. However, you will blow your valve seat out inside your bottle valve! Maybe not on your first use but it will happen in my experience...Brian at FX USA told me it should work just fine but they don't endorce the use of Huma products in FXguns.
I have two 300cc bottles, used the adapter on one and worked as advertised but different story on the other. When I tried to bleed after filling all air blead out before when I tried to disconnect.
Put it on the gun filled no problem, but removed the bottle and all air was lost before I could remove it.
Valve pin obviously stuck, others have admitted to having this happen but just a rap with a rubber mallet stopped the leak, but no matter what I tried my bottles bleed completely out.
I removed my bottle valves and disassembled the valve and the valve seat was blown out of it's seat and on one the oring was cut in half and the other the oring was blown completely of off the seat.
The Impact wass not designed to have only air pressure push the filling valve open when filling the bottle and that's what happens when using the Huma adapter.
When the bottle is attached to the gun the bottle valve is already pushed open so an easy flow path is allowed for the refill.
I made a spacer out of some alloy tubing that holds the valve seat in position that allows me to use the Huma adapter to fill my bottles off the gun and that's pretty sweet.
Long post sorry! But beware it will happen, if you don't mind buying a spanner wrench, plastic jaws for your vice and intertube rubber to grip your bottle plus the possibility of having to heat your bottle valve with a torch, (I didn't but FX said I would have to) BEWARE.
HUMA could redesign their adapter to push the bottle valve pin open and a check valve on the male foster end and would be a fabulous thing. Fill your extra bottle, go hiking, shoot have fun, swap bottles without the extra weight of a fill station.
