Huma Regulator Small Screw's Purpose

Well... I wasn't expecting to see this (see pics) during my Huma install.

I followed the Huma video and things moved along smoothly until after I removed the air tube. While preparing to remove the air tube end cap using pins, I looked through the hole and did not recognize the regulator inside. There was only a big, flat, allen headed brass piece could be seen a ways down the tube. There was nothing that looked like the stock FX reg with the bulging hex nut you can grab with pliers.

In addition, there was a somewhat primitive hole drilled into the side of the air tube with a small allen headed grub screw inside. It doesn't look like a factory job to me.

Can anyone help me here? Is this an updated FX reg of some type? Does the hole and grub screw look familiar to you?

I purchased this gun new from Utah Airguns in March of this year (2020.) They are a great group of people and I but all my stuff from them now but this has me perplexed.

Thanks Chuck-in-Ohio! Glad to hear it is stock.

Based on your input I just did a bunch more Goggling and indeed that is the new AMP reg. The videos on Huma site still show the old reg for Wildcats and I was expecting to see that.

The manual with my Wildcat MKII was pretty much just a brochure. Not any real technical stuff.

That hole in the Wildcat MKII's air tube to allow access to the stock AMP reg's adjustment screw explains a lot. That must be why the "spacer" that came with my Huma reg is so much longer than the spacers for Wildcats with the old reg. They have to push the new Huma reg farther back in the air tube so that hole that FX drilled in the air tube sits between the two O-rings on the new reg. Anyway... nice to have a larger plenum even though that was not likely the primary purpose.

How do I get the AMP reg out of the tube as there is nothing to grab hold of? Will it drop out by itself?

Thanks!
