Chuck,
Finally had to walk away from it last night. Got up before the birds were singing, 0400 (Da), Figured out how to get that plastic washer out. Put a screw in there and pulled it out. Found a o-ring that fit and tightened down the Wika. It isn't quite centered. However, I like it like that as I don't have lean over the barrel to read it. Anyway, figured out why I could only get 140 Bar. Well I used my 18 cu/ft air tank to fill my cylinder back up from empty. The light bulb finally came on and I realized there is only so much sand you can put in a 5 Lb bag. Used my air compressor and brought her up to 250 Bar. Nice thing about this stubbed toe...learned that the Wika gauge is balls on accurate. No leaks and pressure is holding just fine.
Not sure why the AMP will not stay lined up. Pretty difficult to put that thing in backwards. You would have to pull the fill port and push it out if it were in backwards. As a matter of fact, I never did see the adjustment grub when I pulled that little fricken rubber ball they use to cover the vent hole. So something is wrong in Norway. (Or, should I say Sweden). Johan wrote me from FX. He actually answered my previous questions somewhat more satisfactorily. I do believe FX may be monitoring this forum. Any how the following was my response:
Johan,
My problem is the vent hole does not line up with the adjustment grub. I think the spacer is to small and therefore the adjustment screw slides back under pressure. What size spacer should be in there? The AMP Regulator sounds great. However, what good is it if you can't access the adjustment grub (screw)? It certainly appears more robust than the old regulators. I would love to play with it. I understand it is operational; but, it is not installed as intended. As a consequence, it is not operating as intended or advertised. Therefore, it is not functional. You must know that Huma will develop a regulator targeted at your product. This would indicate to Air-gunners that your regulator is sub par. I'm not saying it is. Never the less, prospective customers may turn to other manufactures that are now utilizing Huma Regulators in their air rifles. I am pleased that I have the AMP Regulator in my rifle. Again, like I have tried to make clear I am not happy that I can not utilize it to its full potential. Thank you for advising me of you your regulator setting. That is the kind of information that should be made known. Also, using that little round plug to cover the vent port is not very well thought out. If it hits the ground, good luck trying to recover it. Your air rifles are a very popular brand. And, there is a vast community that discuss your products. I am certain the new AMP Regulator will be very much scrutinized as it well should be. Please advise how I can line my adjustment screw with the vent port.
Sincerely,
Nick
On well, at least I know that FX sets their regulator at 140 Bar.
Later,
Nick
