I currently use a huma mod 30 (5 stack) on my Leshiy 2 and have been debating getting the behemoth w/ reflex shroud. Has anyone compared the two or against another huma moderator? Is there a noticeable difference?

The bohemoth will be better than your mod30 for sound suppression, but no different to a mod 40 or 50. Also from what I hear, the reflex shroud doesn’t make a big enough difference to offset the cost.
Good to know, yeah I have heard similar about the reflex shroud before. I may just go with the non-reflex version for now. I do like the look of the reflex kit with the hand guard, though that is a debate of it's own. For now I'm more concerned about noise. I do run my L2 around 150 BAR, so it did make me wonder if the reflex is more beneficial at higher pressures. likely very minimal though if anything. The bohemoth will be better than your mod30 for sound suppression, but no different to a mod 40 or 50. I personally found out about the reflex shroud not being too necessary by emailing Brian from EdGun West. I'm sure there are others who have brought this up at this point though too.Is the discussion about the reflex shroud buried in the L2 mega thread?
I'd like to read more about that.
It was actually from a post I made asking about it.Is the discussion about the reflex shroud buried in the L2 mega thread?

I think I remember that comment now that I think about it.It was actually from a post I made asking about it.
I'm glad you mentioned that, I've been curious if the moderator with QD ever comes loose. Good to know about the sound levels as well for further confirmation. Thank you!One big advantage of the reflex shroud is that it has an o-ring that creates additional friction that helps keep the moderator on. I've had the non-reflex version come loose which resulted in pellet clipping which was no fun.
If there is a difference in sound between the two configurations with an equal number of sections, I can't hear it. Tested in .25 and .30.
I wish I had just bought my L2 with the stock shroud now, unfortunately it didn't come with my sparrow kit that I bought.STO, striplin, behemoth quieted mine down to where the bark is no problem. Dry fired indoors over the weekend, not even startling.
The QD can come loose if you dont lock it up. It is VERY robust, so don't go easy on it IMHO. Crank it reasonably hard in one motion and it doesn't come off.
35-40 fpe is ripping right through duct seal for me though, and I can't quiet down the thump against the metal bscking of my trap
Above combo did quiet it enough that impact noise is the problem instead of pneumatic nailgun noise. Nice to have then flexibility of quiet-ish with just the STO, too.

Okay, I may just opt for the non-reflex version for now and if anything buy the necessary parts to convert. I was a little on the fence after dorcula's mention of it being loose, but I definitely will just get it nice and snug.
Thank you
I think the behemoth will be a nice upgrade. My mod 30 is for .30 cal and was sent with my .22 sparrow kit. Not quite sure why, but didn't think about it until later on that it likely isn't as efficient in .30 cal. I'm thinking the behemoth will be a fairly noticeable difference. I'm holding off until I have a molecular sieve filter for my pump. Should have that soon enough. The Huma 40 and Behemoth are REALLY similar, and by all accounts similarly effective.
I went with the Behemoth because the QD option on the Huma is trash while the Behemoth one is awesome.
.22 cal, I'm probably going to hold off on buying it for now and just get the behemoth. Realized I need to get a better filter system for my pump so going to try to save some money and just go for the moderator for now, and get the new filter. Down the revisit the shroud idea most likely. The factory shrouds come up on the Classifieds now and then. Hard to search for since some people call them moderators and others call them shrouds.
What caliber is your L2?
Makes me want a 3D printer, that's awesome! On a related note, I'm experimenting with 3D-printed inserts for the the Behemoth on my L2 (currently, a .25 running at around 65fpe). Figured that if I put a baffle in the first section, it would force more air into the reflex chamber. Seems to work very well so far as far as the sound signature is concerned. Surprisingly, the non-reflex version benefits from the blast baffle as well. There might be positive effects on accuracy, too. Work in progress...
