Looking for a reasonable priced ammo alternative. Any of you guys shoot any of HS cast bullets in .457 or .495? Let me know if they shot worth a darn or if I should steer clear. TIA.

Ballistic Products might have what you’re looking for. They make a swaged lead round ball that is .50 cal and rips out of my dragon claw. I think they are .497, can’t remember the weight, but if I go downstairs again and remember I’ll weigh them. They run about $45 shipped for roughly 280 shot, which is measured in 8lb containers. Shipping isn’t that bad if you’re buying two or three eight lb jugs at once. They are a softer lead than hard cast; much more concentric being swaged vs cast! Hope this was helpful.
