Hunting for Easter šŸ£ groups at 275y/ 251m, just over MOAā€¦

Iā€™ve been working on my target backerĀ for long range the last couple weeks on windy days.Ā

I movedĀ the 250 yard range andĀ the 300 yard range together at 275. It seems like a more reasonable distance to shoot than 300 for some reasonā€¦Plus for our friends overseas 250mĀ is fairly easy to replicate.Ā

It was calmĀ for about 20 minutes in the morning prior to Easter festivities. I was able to get on paper fairly easily.

There was about 20 minutes of calm in the evening. Since my rifle was already I was able to take advantage of it.

I was shooting the D-Wolf 25. March 5-50. 29g slugs šŸŒ.Ā

The top two targets were just a hair over MOA. Both were justĀ over 3 inches at 275 yards.

Good question. The point of impact is quite a ways from the point of Aim. In the case of the picture below, I purposely pointed with my glove hand at my hold, the impacts were 3 feet to the right. I was holding at the intersection of the two pieces of paper. The wind was blowing at approximately 30 inches to the right. Throughout the shooting time,Ā the amount of wind was varying between about 18 to 30 inches.

in the cases below I was trying to hitĀ the squares. In thoseĀ casesĀ I was holding about 18 inches off.

Wow Mike, 275 yards! Thatā€™s amazing. I was shooting my .22 HP RedWolf at around 160 yards and hitting a baseball sized spot on a big flat rock with satisfying regularity.Ā I canā€™t imagine tacking on another 100+ yards! But Iā€™m certainly willing to try lol. My RedWolf seems to shoot the 216 size better than the 217 size of knockout slugs. These rifles are truly unbelievable. Nicely done Mike!
