Hunting Iguanas in Florida - Palm Beach County - Lake Worth or Wellington Area

I am new here. So hello everyone!

I got myself a Leshiy 2 just recently. .22 350mm. It would be nice to go shoot with it. In my area though, there is almost no public land. There are some wildlife management areas near me, but they are restrictive.

I have two question:

1. I live in Lake Worth Florida and I was wondering if there are any restrictions to go walk the canals and maybe shoot Iguanas or other critters that you encounter. I see people fishing next to canals all the time. I am wondering if you can do something similar except shooting critters. I have done some research, I see Florida does not consider PCP guns firearms, but I am wondering there might be some regulation that are more restrictive. County or local regs.

2. If someone is around my area, what are some good remote spots to go shoot. Away from people.

Thanks!

thats where im from .. i can tell you your gonna get harassed by sheriffs if your anywhere in city limits and somebody sees you walking around with an 'assault rifle' ... when i moved ~12 years ago iguanas were around but not real populated so i dont know the density .. but theres a couple of long canals that cut through the middle of nowhere around the corbit area whefe nobody would likely bother you but 'dont' have a firearm on you just in case ... the rules change once your armed with a firearm ....also if you head out towards belle glade theres some cane farms and miles long access roads covered with snakes in the evening ... nobody will bother you on those roads either .. but as i said i dont know the iguana population now as opposed to when i lived there ...

Huncowboy,

Check out "Iguana Man" and "Iguana Solutions' on YouTube and they may be able to help you plus it's possible that you'll be able to meet up with them.

I hope this helps.

Hey Huncowboy, I'm in Jupiter and want to hunt Iguanas with my .22 Pellet Gun. Were you able to find a place to hunt? LMK as I need a mentor to help me with this sport.
Sorry but I was not. Not around 441 where we are at. They seam to be more east, toward the ocean. Unfortunately, too many people there to run around with a rifle.

Plenty of raccoons in my backyard though. I shot quite a few of those. They love marshmallows.
