Hunting Pellets| .25

If your gun shoots the JSB pellets then the Hades should do well also.

The Polymags do good enough in some guns to be good for 50 yards or so as well.

Then there are the Crow Magnums they haven't shot that well in any of my guns but some have had good luck with them here and there.

Recently Purchased (2) Air Venturi Avengers Absolutely loving the quality of them,

I'm open to the hunting pellet recommendations as I'm wanting to stock right up, I've currently got a pack of H&N Hornets Pointed, and a pack of 26 Grain FX Hybrid Hollowpoint Slugs.

Which pellet I select to hunt with really depends upon several factors: what I’m hunting, the range (minimum and maximum distance) I’m hunting, the tune of my airgun (which velocity range is it shooting my pellets or slugs), which pellets group the tightest and most consistently on paper during target practice, which ammo seemed to get the job done in past hunts, what other hunters have had success using while hunting the same quarry. If you’re hunting with a particular projectile you would want to know how it performs when shooting from various distances (rise and drop) and how it performs in wind.

I have practiced with various brands, styles, and weights of pellets and slugs. I’ve killed more animals with domed pellets than any other ammo in .25 caliber. Most of the time my success really depends upon where I shoot the animal (on its body). Of the ammo you listed, which one(s)have you gotten the best results with in target practice?

all i use mine for is hunting .. get ya a couple of tins of exact kings, should last you until about 2027 ...

+1 JSB KINGS

These^^^ They're all I use in my 2 PCP's (and my .25 break barrels for that matter) and easily take out what I shoot them at...lol.

Hell yeah!

Knocked a fat coon off my roof last night. Woke up at 2AM hearing him trying to dig into my attic.

Grabbed my .25 shorty and went outside. Shooting off hand upward at almost a 45 deg angle I quickly pumped two KINGS into his armpit and 15 seconds later he slid off the back off the roof BAM onto the ground deader than a door nail.

Hey fin, I too have the avenger in .25cal, & I too have the fx hybrids and h&n hornets. I'm not as impressed with the hornet as I wanted to be. The accuracy was there though at 833fps the hornet was 1 ragged hole at 5o yards. The hybrids about ¾ " but have the best ability to buck the wind. Although in the windy days hornets are not as Friendly as the 25gr domes.

I use the hades at and domed pellets for hunting, hades is less than 50 yards and domes for anything further. Nsa 38 or fx hybrids on windy days 12+mph.

And as for penetration goes the h&n weren't that impressive. At 50+ yards the 25 domes penetrated a cooking pan into a potatoes better the the h&n.

The .22 Baracuda Hunters surprised me in that they are more acurracte in my gun than JSB 18s and they still fly straight at 950FPS. Under 50 yards there is no reason to use FX Hybrids as the Hunters expand just as well for 1/3 the cost. They also expand just as well as Polymags at half the price.

H&N does make the Hunters in .25 Cal....it might be worth a try.
