So far the element brand is great but I open to new possible brand. I had a swift fixed 10 it was sweet.

@addison I'm not sure what your inteded use for hunting will be (e.g. quarry, terrain, weather conditions, etc). I haven't dealt with SWFA customer service and I;m not sure if this scope has zero stop. I have one, but I prefer to hold as opposed to dial.

Helos BTR Gen2 2-12x Athlon has good customer service in my experience. I'm not a big fan of this scope. I feel that is should be lighter for its length, but many members seem to love it. You may as well

My favorite hunting scopes right now are a Hawke Sidewinder 4-14x50mm 4-16x50mm FFP and a Vector Continental 5-30x56 FFP

@addison That SWFA scope is a tank. I've used it for deer hunting in the woods. It gets a little dim around dusk, so its not the brightest scope I've used. This is a rock solid scope. I've also had my Vector Veyron 3-12x44mm scopes out in all types of weather over a few years and they hold up just find. Doubt they have zero stop. I've really come to prefer illuminated reticles. I also forgot that you may want to look into. Leupold 3-9x. There is a really light one. I think its a Leupold Freedom, but has a fixed 100 yard parallax. At least the one I have does. They have others. The glass quality and weight are nice on the one I have, but because of the fixed parallax I don't use it much on airguns anymore.

What type of reticle do you prefer? What type of air gun do you want to put it on?

Here's a $189.00 experiment that you'll probably like, less the zero stop. So far I've not seen anyone try one and have a complaint. I don't know about customer service or warranty, other that they contacted me about my shipment, and replied back to my response even. They were recently shipping quickly from California versus originally factory direct from China.​

What do you consider low weight? Under 20oz?

Also are you only hunting at longer distances? A fixed 10x is great for longer shots but tough for close shots, as Im sure you are already aware.

I have used a wide variety, and I think my next one with be the Athlon Helos BTR Gen2 2-12x. It is pretty good on weight being ~23oz., has that nice low zoom for close hunting while still reaching out there with 12x. It has illumination, adjustable paralax, locking turrets with zero stop, xmas tree reticle, FFP, good image quality, good eye-box, and one of the best customer service records in the industry.

Another option is the DNT 3-12x Night Vision runs about $600.

Dnt has the range finder right? Arken makes nice scopes I hear as well

Range finders
OR as in Field Target, a good friend was telling me about. Parallax adjustments for range. But you can't go by what your parallax is marked. You need a big one marked for your vision. It's challenging.
When range finder are not allowed
Other than that, Range finders.

Factoring in weather conditions, temperature, and a number of other factors..............yes they are.
Going by the charts, you should be dead on with your shot every time. Never happens. Factor in the human equation.
Anyways, just about everyone here knows more about this kind of stuff than me. So I may not be your best advisor.
Plus im not getting paid.

it's getting pretty rare now to find open sights on PCP guns 😕 fortunately they are still available on most springers..
I did shoot a friend's gun that has a 4x acog scope with fiber optic on top that lights up the recticale.. pretty wide field of view and very clear and light..

wishing there was a easy way to add open sights on rifles. but this is my favorite out of his collection and mine.. and I plan on ordering one of these myself for a gun that I can't figure out open sights for..

Was told you can buy optics for them in there accessory section .. why should they pay to aim there gun when you can ?
